I dread this post every year for the obvious. If you have followed me for quite some time you know why.
NonethelessI wouldn’t be Army Wife 101 if I didn’t share that the Sears Holiday Wish Registry is to open this month on August 30th 2012.
Sears has officially announced it on there site.
REGISTRATION IS COMING SOON!
Registration is open only to individuals 17 years of age or older who are on active duty between August 30, 2012 and December 3, 2012 in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Reserves. Registration is limited to the first 20,000 eligible individuals, and ends when such number is reached or at 11:59:59 PM Central Time on August 30, 2012
REGISTRATION LINK (CLICK THIS LINK ON AUGUST 30TH): http://www.sears.com/
Southern Nevada Military Families posted these details.
ONLINE REGISTRATION DATE AND TIME: Thursday, August 30th, 11am for PST; 12pm MST; 1pm CST; 2pm EST
In addition, from September 4 through November 19, the site will be taking donations to help meet the holiday wishes of military families.
Please share this information with any DOD card holders who may be able to use the extra help this year. Last year (2011) those who were chosen received approximately a $50.00 gift card to help for the holidays!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Registration is open only to individuals 17 years of age or older who are on active duty between August 30, 2012 and December 3, 2012 in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Reserves. Registration is limited to the first 20,000 eligible individuals. There is no difference between a single service member and those with families as long as they are active duty they are eligible.
WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE: Retired, Reserve, National Guard and Wounded Warrior members NOT on active duty status will not be eligible for this program! Gold Star Families who are NOT on active duty status also are not eligible.
SUGGESTION: Last year a few people had problems registering on their work computers due to fire walls so it’s suggested to use a home computer or if the active duty service member is working have the spouse register at home. Remember you are registering the active duty service member by first and last name not the spouse. Typically registration ends in the first 10-15 minutes and don’t be alarmed if the site freezes due to so many people all trying to register online.
FYI – HEADS UP: Registration starts at 11am for us West Coasters but I had the notification happen at 10:30am so you’ll have enough time to log in using the link above which will go live on August 30th at 11am (for those of you in different time zones do the math and make sure you sign in on time).
Remember this is a gift and not an entitlement that Sears is providing military families. Even if you don’t get your name registered be grateful that 20,000 military families will be helped in 2012!
Enjoy and remember be thanksful!
