I just started watching this year after many military wives I know talked about the show. I must say that I am also disappointed that there are really no enlisted families represented on the show. It is definitely a turn off for me. I think it would be interesting to have both junior enlisted and senior enlisted families as they both have their unique set of challenges, rewards, and situations.

Hi! I love your blog! I read it all the time. Your video was just as enjoyable and I'm a die hard fan of yours. As for agreeing or disagreeing, Im not sure I can do either, just express my opinion. Let's just say I spent several years in europe recently in a specific secluded base outside of any major city, and not only was there the drama we see on Army Wives, but some of it was very similiar to that on the show. Im sure many posts are quiet and many army wives live drama free lives, but then there are those posts where things are constant drama and some army spouses which live similiarly to those on the show. I love being an army wife, but I can honestly say I have watched almost every episode and have seen many similarities in this one particular post where we resided for so long. Hanging with the Officer's wives....it was never a problem for anyone. One in particular was a wonderful down to earth woman who we all loved and who was just like the rest of us. Like you said on your video, she was one of us. The affairs that have taken place on the show over the past several years, well, I think we'd be lying if we all haven't seen that happen. The episodes about people pcs'ing (which made me reflect and brought actual tears to me) and people coming and going, some dying off, and others ets'ing were reflections of reality. I saw how hard it was for them to say goodbye when Pamela left! Wow! I so remember the reality of that....as we all do Im sure. Do we like seeing some of the stuff the soldiers do on the show which are just plain dumb and so unreal? No! And they don't fool us when they try to make us believe this is how it is....after all, we have been thru many of these things and we live the life every day. But all in all, I would have to say the similarities which I have experienced living as an army wife on base are definitely as close a depiction as anyone can come. I love the show and I tell my civilian friends to watch it. They are always asking me, "is that for real", and "do they really do that?" I think we all hear it. I'd guess I'd have to answer that I view the show as a dramatized way of sharing what we all experience in our lives as army wives. No it's not "real", but there are sure a lot of episodes depicting situations we are all too familiar with. Oh, by the way. When the show first started, the producers staged their episodes based on letters and suggestions from REAL ARMY WIVES. That is how the show began! May Army Wives live on :)

Omg..... Your blog cracked me up! I've been living in Waikiki for 2 1/2 years. I'm deciding if I want to stay. I miss road tripping, good restaurants, good clothes shopping, variety of nightlife..... And a mixture of people. People all kind of blend into the same kind of beachy hang out and do nothing sort if they are here for too long. I miss the different mixture of people from back home (I'm from LA). However, I am very glad I moved here. It's been a wonderful experience. Few can experience the daily luxury of a warm, clean ocean and beautiful sunsets. I can swim in my pool year round. And love in sundresses and sandals..... my dream come true. I think Hawaii is about looking good and feeling good. If you harness that sexiness, you never get tired of the beach, or walking, and being active. Hawaii is all about being active. It's a healthy person's dream come true. However, if you fall into a funk....(which I am in now) ... get off track with working out, eating healthy, and being active.. you start conflicting with Hawaii. Everything you want to do: eat, get dressed up- in real clothes, and start doing other not so active things (shopping, hanging out with friends and family back home)..... you realize Hawaii doesn't offer any of that. Those aren't bad things to want either. But when you're taking care of yourself and eating right and exercising, Hawaii opens itself up to you. You can't help but see and feel the Love and Beauty that is around you. I've been coming to Hawaii since 1996, and permanently relocated almost 3 years ago. The key to happiness here is looking and feeling good about yourself. It's an odd paradox since Hawaii is known for muu-muus and large people. But those people truly feel healthy and beautiful, and despite their size, they live very active lifestyles. No couch potatoes on this island. So in my haole island opinion, the only way to truly be happy on a rock in the middle of the sea is to be happy from the inside out. Paradise comes from within.

So, I have Tubular breasts, which is a birth defect. Would that be covered? It wouldn't even be necessary to put in implants; because they're not uneven. Just a corrective surgery. Please reply.

Their casting associate contacted me and asked if I would submit a video to be on the show. But... after beginning to work out the details, they rescinded their offer because they realized I was stationed in Germany and they didn't want to pay for the flight over. Too expensive and not in their budget, the casting agent tried to explain.

Personally... I was a bit disappointed and ANGRY! She contacted me. She wanted me. But then because I'm stationed in Germany (on orders!!!!) I'm no longer eligible.

Doesn't seem quite right to me.

I have been locking my pocketbook in shopping carts for at least 20 years. In my case, the high level of awareness I have at all times has more to do with my Pa and the way I was raised than it does my husband. For that matter, I am much more security conscious than my hubby. What I do when he is away doesn't change from what I do when he is home.
So here is a list of some of the things I do:

Thank you so much for the information! I've been telling my hubby that a work from home job would be perfect, I've just had trouble going about them.
Do you need a degree of any sort? I have my high school diploma, and will have my AA in a few months. Is there anything more I should look into getting if I want a work from home job?
Thanks so much, all your posts are really helping me!
