Did you know that Florida is one of the top travel destinations for military families? It’s not only close to several military bases here on the East Coast, but it has a plethora of military deals.
With Spring Break here for many and Summer around the corner, we wanted to share 13 military deals you should know about if heading to Florida on leave.
We’re assuming you know about Disney’s popular Amed Forces Salute military discount, but if you don’t you can read about it here. We’re also gonna assume you already know about the long running “Waves of Honor” promotion that gives military families admission into parks like Busch Garden and Seaworld. Theme Parks/Attractions
Universal Studios Orlando
Universal Studios is the perfect alternate to Disney and offers a military deal of their own. They currently offer their “Military Freedom Promotion” for $199 pp which is a 2 park ticket. In addition to other ticket choices, military families can book a customizable vacation package starting at $89 per might per person. You can learn more about their military deals here.
Legoland Florida
For the lego lover in your home, Legoland offers a generous deal to military families. Active Duty military personnel receive FREE admission, to Legoland and their water park.This offer can be obtained with a valid military ID at the Legoland ticket window.
Veterans and dependents receive deeply discounted admission along with a second FREE day. This deal can be obtained at your local base’s ITT office. If you purchase tickets at the park window you will receive a 10% military discount on one and two day park tickets.

Peppa The Pig Theme Park
The popular animated series about a little girl pig named Peppa is now a full fledged theme park located right inside Legoland Resort. Military receive a 10% military discount on admission. Notice of this discount is available in their FAQ’s here.
Disney Springs
Can’t make it to Disney World, but still want a little of the Disney magic? Take the family to Disney Springs. This retail and entertainment center has over restaurants and plenty of places to sit and stroll. There’s no admission fee and many of their stores and eateries offer military discounts. Crayola Experience
Is a great sidebar from the theme parks for the little ones. They also offer a free annual bronze pass to military and first responders. More here.
Icon Park
This dining and entertainment destination offers a 25% military discount on admission to their famous “Wheel Ride”. In the Wheel observations cars you can see all of Orlando from 400 get above. Military member must present a valid at at the ticket window. Details here.
Dinosaur World
With over 150 life size dinosaur sculptures and other exhibits, this is the perfect place for kids who love science and dinosaurs. Best of all the Active Duty service member gets free admission.Details here.
Resorts, Hotels, and Campaign
Amelia Island
If you’re avoiding theme parks and want a more relaxing destination, Amelia Island is the place for you. Located in the Northeast part of Florida along the Atlantic Ocean, it’s filled with great eateries, boutique hotels, quaint B&B’s and beautiful beaches. The best part is they offer a “Seaside Salute” to military personnel and retired veterans. Learn more here.
The Grove Resort & Waterpark
You can lounge at the resort and have fun at a theme park to at The Grove Resort. Enjoy dining, drinks, a waterpark and even a flow-rider. Military receive 15% of their stay along with their flow-rider session. Details here.
Military Camping and Recreational Sites:
There are a ton of military bases in Florida and many of them offer recreations parks and camps. Military and retired service members can stay at these areas for just a small cost. Many of them offer other fun activities like fishing, paintball, golf and boat rentals. Learn more here.

While located on the grounds of Disney, this resort is owned by the Westin. It’s in a great location because it sits right on the Disney boardwalk with great views and easy access to everything. Disney Resorts
Often when we think of Disney World’s military discount we tend to only focus on the park tickets. But, Disney also generously offers discounted rates on stays at their resorts too. Military receive can receive up to 30% off select room category rates. Details here.
Shades of Green
Speaking of Disney, the DOD has their own set of military resorts located in select locations. This includes Shades of Green a military resort located on the grounds of Disney World across from the Polynesian Resort. SOG’s rates are determined by your military rank and guests can also enjoy no tax, large rooms, golf, restaurants, and you can take advantage of specially priced tickets. Veterans with honorable discharges can stay at SOG January through September with a valid DD-214. Details here.
