My heart is sad as I am typing this. I knew it was coming but now that it’s official it’s pretty hard to swallow. Lifetime has announced that they are ending their hit scripted and longest running series “Army Wives” which has aired for seven seasons.
As one reader put it the show is officially ETS’ing!
Lifetime Executive Vice President and General Manager Rob Sharenow gave the following statement:
“There is no denying how special ‘Army Wives’ has been to both Lifetime and the television landscape. By taking on a very relevant and timely issue, it has brilliantly captured the challenges our military families endure and the bravery they and their loved ones display while serving our country.”
The series starred TV veterans such as Catherine Bell (JAG) and Kim Delaney (NYPD Blue) as military spouses living on a Army Post in Charleston, SC and sharing their trials and tribulations as military wives.
For many the series begin to go downhill when Claudia Joy (played by Delaney) the matriarch of the friends died unexpectedly last season and Roxy (played by Sally Pressman) whom fans adored was reduced to a recurring role.
Fans will get a bit of closure as Lifetime announces they will add a two hour retrospective finale sometime next year.

They aren’t cancelled, they are ETS-ing. :-)
Good one! I like that way of thinking about it :)
I love this show. I do agree that it did start going down hill then kind of picked up. I had hoped it would continue.
I’m disappointed. :( I was really liking the last season with the new characters bringing life back to the show, I hoped they were going to continue to flesh out their characters and storylines for at least 1 more season.
