I know race is a very touchy taboo topic and frankly I hate talking about it because if a person’s mind is not open to at least trying to understand differences in something it can be hard to discuss. Not too long ago a military spouse asked about finding a place that does ethnic hair at her new duty station and while most were helpful many took it offensively.

As an African American woman who understands why she asked, I thought I could positively explain why you shouldn’t be offended ever again when you see this kind of question asked on any kind of military spouse forum. By the way if you are a African American spouse and can recommend a good hair stylist at or near your military base please submit their info so I can compile a directory by CLICKING HERE.
