While I am not the biggest pancake fanatic my husband and kids are . In addition I love “moi” a good slice of Red Velvet Cake. When IHOP gave me the chance to sample some of their newest pancake dishes which includes Red Velvet pancakes you can bet your last dollar I jumped at the chance.

We headed over to the newest IHOP here in Spring Lake , North Carolina right (right down the road from the Butner Gate for the Fort Bragg folks) for an impromptu breakfast for dinner last Sunday.

IHOP’s newest menu additions include:

  • Red Velvet Pancakes-Rich, chocolaty red velvet pancakes, drizzled with cream cheese icing, a dusting of powdered sugar and crowned with whipped topping.
  • Sweet Strawberry – Fluffy famous buttermilk pancakes crowned with cool strawberries in glaze, drizzled with cream cheese icing and crowned with whipped topping.
  • Whole Wheat Pancakes with Banana – Wholesome and lightly sweet fluffy whole wheat pancakes topped with fresh sliced bananas.

Naturally I went with the Red Velvet which were sooooo good! I mean seriously no syrup needed at all and this is coming from a chick who up until recently added sugar to frosted flakes. You can check out the video at the bottom to get my thoughts and watch me take a good hearty bite lol!

Hubby chose the Banana Wheat Pancakes which he said he liked and would probably eat over the red velvet since he is more of a regular pancake guy. Personally I didn’t care for the Banana Wheat pancakes as I found them to be alittle to wheaty.

Each set of pancakes can be brought separately for under $4 or you can make it one of the above combo for under $9.

  1. I have only been to IHOP a few times and have never ordered any pancakes, so I would like to try the New York Cheesecake Pancakes with Strawberries. Actually, anything with strawberries would be my top choice.

  5. Our granddaughter and I share our birthday, so my husband took us to Ihop yesterday morning from our birthday breakfast. Our little sweetie is a pancake freak and of course we had to order extra’s to bring back home for this morning! She pops them into the toaster. I love the red velvet and my husband loves the harvest grain. Our little sweetie could eat pancakes at Ihop every morning! Yum.

  8. I love happy face pancakes. I know that makes me a little kid but they are so good. I think if I got the gift card I would try the red velvet pancakes.

  15. I LOVE IHop so picking a favorite dish is kind of tough so I would have to say their chicken fried steak closely followed by the strawberry pancakes!

  17. Every time we go to Ihop I order a chef salad; which isn’t on the menu. They took it off years ago but I love it & thats the only dish I ever order! :)

  19. I have to say my favorite pancakes by far are the Cheesecake Pancakes! They are a mixture of sweet, warm, and yummy all wrapped up into a pancake. I get them every time I go, sometimes just by themselves or with the pancakes platter meal :) Just thinking about it makes me want to jump out of my chair right now and go to ihop.
