Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

The primary goal of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect and provide new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children at Christmas. The organization’s mission is to assist the U.S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree and Wal-Mart

The Salvation Army and Wal-Mart are working together to “Rescue Christmas” in 2020 by placing Angel Trees at Wal-Mart stores across the nation. The goal is to allow every child to feel joy at Christmas. The program provides new clothing and toys to more than one million children and families in need each year. 

Fisher House Foundation

The Fisher House Foundation builds and provides homes where military and veteran families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital. Fisher Houses exist at military and VA medical centers around the world. The foundation has 90 houses in operation and has served over 400,000 families since 1990. 

Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after September 11, 2001. The organization provides various veteran programs and services to help all take positive next steps in life after serving their country. All services are provided free of charge and include community connections, mental wellness, physical wellness, career and VA benefits counseling, and independence programs. 

USO

The USO’s mission is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to the nation. USO centers exist at military installations across the U.S. and the world. USO airport centers provide hospitality and a place to rest for traveling service members and their families. USO also provides entertainment and support to troops stationed far from home.

Veterans Affairs

The mission of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is to serve and honor all of the men and women who are America’s veterans. The organization provides healthcare, disability benefits, education and training, career and employment resources, pension, housing assistance programs, life insurance, and other service member and family member benefits. 

Military Support Organizations

The U.S. Department of Defense provides a comprehensive list of various military support organizations.
