The last week has been pretty lonely , as hubby has been on range duty day and night. We have probably spent 3 hours of quality time together, so you can imagine how happy I was to have a reason to create a mini date night when Wanchai Ferry and Macaroni Grill through MyBlogSpark asked me to create a date night and try out some of their products. Hubby grabbed a bottle of wine before he came home Saturday night and I proceeded to make our meals.

I was asked to try :

and

I also received a $25 Visa GC to buy any other essentials for the date night but we had pretty much everything we needed.

Dislikes

Taste wise I was pleasantly surprised both entrees were delicious. My only complaint both definitely weren’t enough to feed more then two people , especially a grown man who can eat seconds and thirds haha!

As I mentioned the flavor was great. The Basil Creamy Chicken lived up to it’s name it was creamy and rich. The Orange Chicken was soooo good and flavorful. You can tell how much we enjoyed by the pictures below:

  1. we have honestley never had a date night, but i never thought to put the kids to bed and make a nice dinner for just us!! thanks for this blog!

  2. Honestly I dont think we have ever had a date night at home. We have 6 kids and I never seem to find time to make them dinner early, bath and bed early. As picky as my kids are I end up cooking separate anyway….I should give it a try!

  3. main entry: it’s been a while since hubby & I have had a date night, which when we can I like to set a beautiful table setting right by our fireplace to enjoy. Your candle lit table setting is so pretty and espeacailly being a military couple its important to steal all those memorable moments you can which i use to know all to well before we finally retired from the navy. thank you

  4. My husband and I haven’t really had a date night alone outside the house in years, but what we try to do is watch movies together after the kids have gone to bed.

  5. The last date night we had was almost a year ago when we were over in Korea bringing home our 4th child and baby girl, Katelyn! It wasn’t very romantic – we picked up a few little things from a gas station store and brought them back to our room, but it was pretty significant in our lives! Also, and maybe this is cheating a bit, today is our 13th anniversary! Winning a date night would ROCK! :)

  6. The last time we had a date night was about a year ago. A friend watched our daughter so we could have some alone time. :)

  7. We haven’t had a date night in a long time, and the only reason we did was because DF was leaving. We usually stay at home, so it would be great to have a date night in!

  8. In 10 years my husband and I have only gone out about 5 or 6 times alone. We always just pick family things to do. I guess since we have never had a “date night” or a “dinner date” we don’t really know what we are missing. Now that he has joined maybe I should try to feed the kids early and get them to bed and enjoy a dinner just the 2 of us.

  9. Its been about a yr that we have had a night of our own without our 3 kids. It was right when he came home from last deployment and hes about to deploy again..lol

  10. The last time we had a date night was last year to celebrate our anniversary

  11. I have always wanted to try the Maccarronni Grille stuff! It looks so good! The last time hubby and I had a date night was on our one year anniversary. We went out to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory and then came back to the house and watched a movie and spent time together. So needless to say, we need another date night asap.

  12. We had impromptu date night last week. We were on our way home and both of us were hungry and we walked by this lovely little Turkish restaurant and we decided to go in. We had a nice dinner by candlelight…

  13. My husband and I haven’t had a date night in about a year. He is recently deployed right now in Afghanistan but he is coming home in mid November for a little R&R and then back again he goes : ( But I guarentee we will have one when he comes back next month. Yay!

  14. OMGoodness! the last time we had a date night was 8 months after our first son was born…His NCO took him for the night.. & that was the first one we had actualy had since being married.. because we got married he deployed came home & I had the 2 week old baby.. its was crazyness..& now we also have a 10 month old.. & he just finished a second tour in iraq! its been crazy in this house.. but i wil at least say we are truely blessed to have a very healthy 2 1/2 year old & a very healthy 10 month old! =)

  15. We have not had a true date night at home in a very very long time! In fact, I can not remember when! I know over 5 years because that is how old our son is! :-)

  16. Well, my kids are teenagers now so I’d say about fifteen years.
    seriously.
