As a military spouse, you may already know that the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) offers great savings on groceries and household items. But did you know that there are even more ways to save during the Month of the Military Child? From March 27 to April 9, DeCA is offering extra savings and fun activities for service members and their families.

One of the highlights of this special Easter edition of the Savvy Shopper Sales Flyer is the hidden “eggs” for children. Kids can look for them in the Month of the Military Child poster inside the flyer to see how many they can find. This is a great way to get your little ones involved in the shopping experience while also saving money.

Another way to save is through the new and improved Your Everyday Savings (YES!) Program. This program offers extra savings and value on products that you buy most often. Look for the orange YES! label on store shelves to take advantage of these discounts.

To take your savings to the next level, be sure to check out the Savvy Shopper best deals featured in the latest sales flyer. And if you’re looking for meal inspiration, try DeCA’s “Thinking Outside the Box” (TOTB) recipe for Kid Friendly Quinoa Salad. These recipes are dietitian-approved and offer quick and economical solutions for home-cooked meals. Plus, you can save even more on the items listed in these recipes.

DeCA also offers Pathway to Savings – “Instant Savings and Buy One, Get One (BOGO) Free” deals and Commissary Rewards Card digital coupons. You can save over $100 through these deals. And for even more savings, check out the digital coupons available at https://shop.commissaries.com/digital-coupons. Pathway to Savings “BOGO Free” is not available at overseas stores, but overseas customers can still enjoy instant savings by visiting their stores for specific selection and pricing.

To make shopping even easier, DeCA has its Commissary CLICK2GO mobile app. You can access online payment, curbside pickup, digital coupons, the sales flyer, dietitian-approved recipes, and much more through the app, which is free for download through the Google Play and IOS app stores.

In addition to all these savings opportunities, there are also other fun activities and contests for military families. For example, DeCA is hosting a drawing contest for military children in grades Pre-K through 12 for the chance to win a prize from Kinder chocolate and a certificate from their local commissary. The drawing contest starts on April 1, so be sure to check out http://www.commissaries.com/military-child-month for more details.

Other savings opportunities include high-value coupons for participating General Mills brands, the “Del Monte supports CreatiVets” promotion, the “Military Pet Club,” and the “Purina Military Cat Club.” These clubs offer high-value coupons, sweepstakes opportunities, pet tips, and articles. And for those who are interested in health and wellness, select CONUS Commissaries will host a Health and Wellness Expo on April 28-29. Suppliers will be on site to speak about the benefits of their products, hand out coupons, samples, and more. In connection with this Expo, authorized patrons worldwide have a chance to win a $100 Commissary Gift Card through a sweepstakes running from April 1 to April 30.

As a military spouse, you know how important it is to save money wherever you can. DeCA’s sales flyer, YES! program, and other savings opportunities are great ways to stretch your budget and make the most of your shopping experience.
