Throughout the last year or so I have heard great things about Operation Shower and all they are doing to ensure that America’s bravest moms to be and military spouses have everything they need for their new little ones, especially with the large number of current deployments and the many wives who endure a pregnancy far away from home and family. This is done by throwing large baby showers events at military installations nationwide. The first Operation Shower event was held here right by me at Fort Bragg here in North Carolina.

Recently Babies R US partnered with Operation Shower and will supply military moms to be with gift cards to by items every new baby needs and in addition Toys R US has donated $100,000 to help Operation Shower continue to hold events nationwide and supply these deserving moms to be with new baby items.

How You Can Help?

My husband has been at the generous receiving end of caring civilians who just want to show their support for the military by a handshake or a job well done or even the gift of “your dinner is on me” , but in so many cases people are looking for ways to support the military or some aspect of it but they just don’t know how.

If that’s the case you can go directly to the Babies R US website and help raise funds by making a donation or donate products by buying one item or more off of the registry list. We all know the cost of a new baby can be hefty not to mention the stress of a deployment and what that entails financially. I truly believe this is a great cause and way to say Thank You and take some much needed stress off a service member who is not home to help celebrate his wife’s pregnancy.

In Their Words:

To raise awareness and engage consumers in helping military moms, Babies“R”Us will utilize its best-in-class registry to fundraise by offering expectant parents the opportunity to request donations for Operation Shower from friends and family purchasing items from their registry. New and existing registrants are eligible to join the fundraising program at any time throughout the year. Expectant moms who register online at Babiesrus.com can add an Operation Shower donation of $1 or more to their new or existing registry.
