I know all to well how tempting it can be to glance at those incoming text when on the go. As a military spouse missing a text or call can mean the difference between talking to your husband that day or not chatting with him for a few days or even weeks.

Even though this may be the case I doubt your soldier would want you to harm yourself or cause an accident just to reply to their text or answer their call. Trust me if you are a long time follower of Army Wife 101 you know that I was in a major accident last year and while it wasn’t due to texting it certainly is the scariest moment of my life ever which is why I am such a fan of this new app.

Now you might say well what am I supposed to do if I can’t reply back right away?

That’s where the cool new app by Verizon called Safely Go comes in handy.

In a nut shell Safely Go can answer your texts and calls for you without you having to do anything. Though this is the case Safely Go provides you with the ability to set VIP contacts so that your soldier can still reach you if it’s a true emergency.

Here is a list of what else Safely Go does:

SAFELY GO IS YOUR ONE-CLICK TICKET TO DISTRACTION-FREE DRIVING:
☆ Allows only calls and texts only from your 3 “VIP Contacts” (like your family or boss)
☆ Tells everyone else you’re on the road and driving safely, through automatic text replies
☆ Enables calls through your Bluetooth or other hands-free device
☆ Gives you access only to your top 3 “Driving Apps” (like maps, navigation, or music)

I am also looking forward to trying out the other aspects of the app which will essentially help you not to let your cell phone take over your life and focus on other areas. This has been a huge issue for me. My phone rules me and I would love nothing other then to just put it to the side!

To download Safely Go simply visit the Google Player on your Verizon phone. The app downloaded super fast to my Samsung Galaxy S III and I can’t wait to put it to the test.
