A woman’s hair is very personal. Whether we choose to grow it long, cut it short, curl it, straighten it, color it, or let our natural hue shine, it’s a purposeful decision. Yes, we’ve all had one of those unfortunate haircuts or have experienced the occasional bad hair day, but if you ask most women, our hair and hairstyles are very important to how we look and we feel. When our hair is healthy and beautiful, we feel gorgeous as well. Let’s face it, our hair is part of our identity.

Finding Your Style

Our hairstyle may be dictated by the times (remember perms, crimpers and wild bangs?), or by circumstances such as a phase in life. Ask most moms of young children and you’ll find that their hair is now pulled back or is up more than it ever was. Nothing like those little fingers pulling it (ouch)!

Special occasions can influence our hairstyle. Whether you went to a salon, employed the help of a friend, or watched YouTube tutorials, chances are you had special hair for prom, your wedding and the military ball.

For some women, choice of profession dictates hairstyles. A prime example are our female service members, who adhere to specific regulations. These women must do their hair each and every morning, without the option to roll out the door with bedhead. Fortunately, there is more flexibility in the recently relaxed hair regulations issued by the military, but not everyone feels comfortable trying new styles. That’s where Suave® comes in.

#ShareBeauty With Suave® This Veterans Day

In support of our veterans, Suave® encourages women service members and military spouses to wear military-inspired hairstyles on Veterans Day. Share your photos using #ShareBeauty and support Suave® as they donate 10,000 products to troops overseas.

Don’t know where to start? Never tried a polished bun before? Megastar beauty vlogger and military veteran, Dulce Candy, has made a brief how-to video with easy tips for her favorite military-inspired styles. Dulce helps women create stylish looks while staying within military regulations. Her video is fun with simple step-by-step instructions to help you look polished, pretty and professional, whether you are headed to formation, are a mom on the go — or both!

Suave® Products To Look Your Best

As Dulce demonstrated, a great hairstyle doesn’t just begin with a brush and bobby pins. It starts with healthy hair care. Pamper your hair with the Suave® Sea Mineral Line. The Sea Mineral Infusion Moisturizing Body Shampoo and Conditioner will add moisture, softness, volume and bounce.

For salon beautiful hair at home, try the Suave® Luxe Style Infusion Line. Begin with the Luxe Style Infusion Smoothing Lightweight Weather Proof Cream to lock in moisture and prevent frizz. To polish your look and hold everything in place, even on your longest days, spritz with the Luxe Style Infusion Anti-Humidity Hairspray.

Support the Military with Suave®

Suave® has been an American family brand for the last 75 years and is pleased to support the inspirational women serving our country, both at home and abroad. Their #ShareBeauty campaign is designed to promote awareness of these strong and selfless service members, and Suave’s® donation of 10,000 products to troops overseas demonstrates their support.

So remember, you don’t have to be a member of the troops to participate in the #ShareBeauty campaign. Try a military-inspired hairstyle on Veteran’s Day, whether you are a service member or a military spouse who “leads the troops” at home. Take a photo of your hairstyle and share it on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or your favorite social media platform, with the hashtag #ShareBeauty.

We want you! Wear your military-inspired hairstyle on Veteran’s Day, share using #ShareBeauty, or both, to support Suave as they donate 10,000 products to troops overseas.
