Lately all the responsibility at home falls on me. I thought it was bad when hubby was in the AD Army but now that he is National Guard and a full time over the road truck driver it has multiplied.

Add on the fact that I am not the most organized person and you have some major issues.

I work from home full time and a I have a thirteen year old girl (enough said) who requires my attention for all her end of the world problems and then I have an eight year old who has discovered the art of his own voice and talks ALL the time. I am the mom so I have no choice but to listen but if I don’t pay attention all my time will be consumed with just kids.

All that said I have had to learn balance and believe me I am still trying to get the hang of it. On a daily basis their are spur of the moment conference calls, social networking for my business, plus writing or making videos for all the outlets I am part of.

I know if you are a military wife then creating balance is definitely part of your life.

So here are some of the ways I have managed to work and take care of home:

Taught My Daughter To Cook

I know some parents will say “your the mom …you do it”! Fortunately I can throw down in the kitchen but my daughter can too. I don’t take advantage of it but the fact that she cooks at least 2x a week for me leaves me time to get some extra work done.

Make My Kids My Assistants

My kids really have just started to understand what it is I do. They know that I spend a crazy amount of time recording videos too. So I have given each of them the job of recording my videos weekly for me. My daughter also helps organize my office and has even filed my email for me before. Hey it’s family time!

Mandatory Table Time Dinners

While my family is just as guilty of eating in different parts of the house, I do make a mandatory rule that we eat at the dinner table together at least twice a week.

Stop Being So Hard On Myself About A Schedule

As much as I want to have this perfectly organized schedule I am not gonna stress about what I haven’t got done. I feel as long as I carve out some family time , work time, and me time …then all is good!

Part of that me time is watching TV shows to see how others lives are , especially ones that focus on motherhood, marriage and careers.

Although I am not the biggest reality TV fan I do have a few shows I like , one of which is “Mary Mary”.

Mary Mary is a reality television show that follows the three-time Grammy® award-winning gospel duo Mary Mary (Erica and Tina Campbell). Season two will find the sisters experiencing the busiest time of their career. They are promoting their new single “Go Get It,” touring across the U.S. (Joyfest, Gospelfest, Celebrate Brooklyn Concert, Chicago Gospel Music Festival, etc.) and capping their summer by receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Essence Festival alongside Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, and others. Tina is due with her fifth child and Erica recently gave birth to Zaya, complicating the pressure that the sisters already feel when they are performing and away from home.

I am not sure my life would qualify as a reality show simply because I am not that exciting but if watching me sit in front of “Lucinda” ( that’s my laptop) floats your boat then I’m your girl!

Either way it’s great to see other moms share their lives and even though our lives differ we are all juggling the same things.

It’s situations like these that the three-time Grammy® award-winning gospel duo Erica and Tina Campbell face in Season 2 of WE tv’s hit series Mary Mary as they balance being recording artists, mothers, and wives. MARY MARY premieres Thursday, December 6 at 10|9c and moves to its regular time slot on Thursdays at 9|8c, beginning December 13. Watch a sneak peek here!

Does your life feel like a reality TV show sometimes? Tell us about it!
