No matter how you feel about asking for a military discount, they are part of the military lifestyle and lucky for us many awesome businesses show their appreciation for our military and their families by offering them.

Seeing as we move state to state frequently it was pretty cool to see a compilation and comparison list of the top military friendly states , both in the categories of civilian stores and educational military discounts.

I was shocked to see North Carolina coming in so far down the list , considering we have one of the biggest if not the largest military installation in the country.

Check out the below infographic to see the comparison in how different states treat their veterans and military personnel.

  3. Not sure what Wisconsin was like when this article came out, but I can tell you right now that housing for Military personnel is Horrible.

It you are like us you could find yourself temporarily homeless

We signed a one year lease with the option of month to month til our retirement date… Meaning it would be 10 months on month to month so a 2 year lease at the time would not have worked.

After our original lease ended the property management changed hands.. The new company waited 5 months then informed us that we would need to sign a one year lease or vacate in 60 days..

This would have been fine but it seems absolutely no one will rent month to month without charging unbelievable fees… Even when you explain that you are military… They simply do not care…

I would suggest anyone who needs to be stationed in Wisconsin take this into consideration before moving here
