Winner #107 Lynn A. Ft Hood TX

I recently had the chance to review the Shark Steam Mop thanks to Gettington.com. This is something that I had considered buying for a long time because we all know about those infamous “floors” in base housing. I haven’t ran into a person yet who hasn’t had some difficulty in cleaning those hard linoleum floors. Like many hard floors they tend to get grimy, stuff sticks to them and many times no matter how much you clean them they still seem dirty.

The Shark Steam Mop is great for those who do not like chemicals. The mop simply uses water and creates hot sanitizing steam to clean your floors.

The assembly of the mop was easy and was complete in just about three steps. Once that was done I simply used the special pouring cup to fill the mop to the maximum line of which it can hold water. One container can do just about a whole room. Once you plug the mop in it automatically turns on , I gave a few quick pumps to get the steam going and began my glorious journey into easy mopping. The hot steam causes dirt and grime to easily loosen from the floor. The floors dry fast and once you are done just remove the pad and toss in the washing machine. My mops also comes with 2 pads , in which I use one strictly for the bathrooms and one for the other areas in my home. The way to get the best results is to really sweep or vacuum your floors good before use.

While I won’t give up a real mop this one is definitely my choice for sticky spills and  dirt from the hubby’s combat boots.

115 Comments on *CLOSED*Christmas Countdown: Shark Steam Mop Review & Giveaway

  1. I’d use it in my kitchen/dining room!!!!!! Between my clumsy kids and sneaky dog that likes to get food off te counter and knock it down, I mop a LOT! this would make mopping so much easier on me.

  2. OMG! If I would win I would clean from my front door, through my dining area to my kitchen. It is all ceramic tile and a big area to do. Pick me please.

  3. Wow… I haven’t heard anything nice about these mops – this is the first. I have always wanted to try it, though, as we have hard wood floors throughout the house, that are in need of being cleaned well. As well as the baseboards. I have yet to find anything that works to my liking! And, the floors need to be redone before we move again (which we would pay out of pocket for), and this would help with cleaning the floors really well in preparation for that.

  4. I’d use it in almost all my rooms I have been wanting one for awhile now just havent got one cause of the cost of one but I hear they work wonders and plus it might be easier on my back and hip a little

  5. OMG, I live on post at Fort Hood in one of the older homes. I have three children, 5 and under. I would definitely be using this on my scuzzy linoleum floors under my kitchen table. I am mopping at least once a day, if not more in there, and on my hands and knees trying to scrap stuff off the floor!

  6. This product sounds like it would be PERFECT for the crazy floorplans our houses have here on Fort Hood. Really, who designed these places?? lol My “backdoor” is right in between my living and diningrooms, so when the dog or my son (mostly the dog) comes trampling in from the backyard, they leave a trail of yucky thick mud (sometimes poo, ick!) that sticks. I am not a fan of the disposable pad type of mops so I have my ol’ trusty deck mop.
We also have a side door that opens from the carport where my husband enters…he’s as bad as the kid and dog with his trail of gunk. So that’s another area that would be perfect to use this product. (None of them are allowed to enter through the frontdoor! haha)
    Thanks for the review.

  7. Everywhere…..My neighbor said she finally broke down and bought one a year ago and she says it works great. I’ve used a mop, swiffer wet pad and I have to go over twice…once with cleaner and last with just water to help get rid of streaks and that doesn’t always work. Our house had previous renters and not sure what they used, but the floors are not like new. So this is on my to get list. With me going over my floors daily or every other…I’m sure the Shark Steam mop would make life easier.

  8. I would use it all over my house my house is nothing but linoleum flooring and with 4 kids a dog and a soldier in the house the floors seem to never be clean lol I sweep and mop constantly and still never seem to get the results of clean :( So, if I were to win this I would be able to use it all over and be able to takle the dirt and see clean ! Yay!

  9. My whole house is hard floors on base…I would use it EVERYWHERE! With three tiny kids 5 and under and my husband, the floors are always dirty!

  10. I would use the steam mop in my mudroom, kitchen. dining room, entryway, living room, reading nook, hallway, bathrooms, and in all three bedrooms because I have no carpet anywhere! I <3 "historic" homes on post :)

  11. This is so on my wish list to have. I would use it in my dinning room, both bathrooms, kitchen, there is an entry way in the living room, laundry room, and I can use it on a tile part of the floor in the back den. Its an off white tile and living in OK with the red clay soil it drives me nuts to always clean up. Plus I have two big dogs and I can always see there paw prints on the floor.

  12. I, Like you, have considered purchasing this mop but have not yet done it. I always wondered if it lived up to all the hype so I really appreciate the feedback from you. I wwould most defnitely use it inmy kitchen/dining area the most, and of course the bathroom where my son always seems to have bad aim! LOL Have a very Merry Christmas :)

  13. I would use it on the kitchen floor, dining room floor and the bathroom floors. I have been wondering about this mop. Thanks for your review :)

  14. I would use it on my laminate and ceramic tile floors. I have a 4 year old where nothing is off limits to what he throws on the floor. Would love to sanitize everywhere he walks.

  15. I would use the Shark Steam Mop throughout my entire apartment. We have hardwood floors and no matter how much I mop, my floors are never clean enough. Our base housing has no air conditioning so in the summer we have to leave our windows open and this causes our floors to stay dirty even if I mop twice a day, which doesn’t seem to help. Winter time is just as bad though. The salt that is put out to melt the snow leaves white rings on my floor so that means I have to mop the entry way alot in the winter.

  16. I would Love to Win This! Our Laminate Floors In This on Base House Could definitely use it. Having Two Small Infants it seems like as much as I use the Swifer it doesn’t get the floors Clean Enough. It also would help after Tracking in this Red Dirt. Overall it would be a lifesaver. Hope I win!

  17. OMg I would be soo happy to win this! My floors need it badly. Between the red dirt, my husband clumsiness n the dog, the shark would do wonders in the kitchen and dinning room.

  18. I would use the steam mop on linoleum and tile floors in our bathrooms and laundry room, and wood floors in our kitchen, dining room, and master bedroom :) *Thanks* for the giveaway!

  19. My sister-in-law got this for Christmas! I loved it! I would steam mop my kitchen floor and entryway. I wish I had this in Germany with their all wood flooring.

  20. I would use it in my whole house since we have the lovely linoleum floors. Between the dog, my husband and the red clay that all us Hawaii wives “love”, this would be put to use A LOT. This is an awesome give away. Good luck to everyone!
