The last time I discussed our plans for our Disney trip I shared that we had decided to stay at one of the “Value Resorts” called Pop Century. Unfortunately Army duty called and we had to change the dates of our trip as well as shorten our stay. Let’s just say rear detachment definitely has it’s perks but it is not all it is cracked up to be.
In any event when I called Disney to change our dates it was a super easy process but, they did not have any more rooms at ANY of the value resorts so my next option was to move to a Moderate resort. After only a few seconds to make a choice I winded up choosing “Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center“.

While we are paying an additional $41 more per night then before ,we are still getting a substantial savings utilizing the awesome Disney military discount .
Here is a break down:
2 nights at Coronado without Military Discount: $ 169-$174
With Military Discount: $119
Total without Discounts: $338-$348
Total with Discounts: $239
We save close to $55 a night with our discount!
In addition I have learned that the Coronado Springs resort has over 1,900 rooms and has an internal shuttle system for the lazy people like me who refuse to walk to long of a distance. Actually the resort is super big so golf cart transportation is available to take you around the resort. As you can see in the picture above the resort is beautiful and is designed with a American Southwest and Northern Mexico theme.
It has an arcade and several pools at which they show movies poolside.

We will have several restaurant options ranging from affordable to “Ummm yeah we ‘ll take McDonald’s. No, but seriously the restaurants look great and offer several kid friendly options.

The rooms look super and I can’t wait to spread out in one of the luxurious Mayan or Aztec themed beds as shown below:

Stay tuned for Part 3 of my Disney trip, I’ll be blogging, vlogging and tweeting from the road!
