Enjoying Marie Callendar’s Meals and Supporting Our Troops With Comforts From Home
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Marie Callender’s for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Last night my family tried the “Three Meat and Four Cheese Lasagna” from Marie Callender’s. This meal was savory and full of flavor, there was nice chunks of meat accompanied by a tomato sauce that would have you believing that you made it yourself. My children loved it, even my picky “mom what’s that” 10 year old son cleaned his plate. This meal was great alternative for dinner since I really didn’t have the time to cook like I wanted too yesterday. Marie Callendar meals come in many varieties including many classic favorites such as “Fried Chicken and Gravy” and “Herb Roasted Turkey Breast”. I also decided to try their Shrimp and Alfredo Parmasean Sauce which was really tasty and filling.
As a military spouse I am a big supporter of our troops and their families because I have lived the military lifestyle for many years and I love to help in anyway I can. One reason I decided to choose Marie Callender’s frozen meal to serve to my family for dinner was to participate in their Callender’s Comforts From Home Project, which supports USO2GO. The USO offers support to our service members at home and abroad. USO2GO is a program that brings a bit of home , fun and entertainment to the troops serving overseas. Because of this program military personnel will receive kit filled with goodies such as electronics, Books, games and other recreational equipment. Troops will have the opportunity to turn remote conditions into a taste of home where they can relax with furnishings, swap emails and read or even get a game of ball started.
During my husband’s fifteen plus years of military service I can remember many times while he was deployed that he used the services provided by the USO to contact me or just to relax after a long shift. I myself have had the privilege of using one of the USO’s facilities while traveling. As you may know the services that the USO provides are free to the service member, this means that the USO relies on outside resources to help fund the services that they provide.
If you love Marie Callendar meals then you will be glad to know that by purchasing a meal you can help support the troops and USO2GO. For every entry by 1/31/2015 of an 8-digit code found on participating products, Marie Callender’s will donate $.50 to the USO2GO program. Guaranteed minimum donation: $100,000. Maximum donation: $250,000. Limit 5 code entries per person/computer each day. Valid in U.S. Only.
