gophone

Last month I shared about AT&T’s GoPhone and how my 10 year old son absolutely enjoyed his birthday present. He so badly wanted a phone since everyone in our family wanted one and thanks to the folks at AT&T I was able to give him one within limits. If I was going to give my son a phone I want it to be something I could easily monitor in terms of data, minutes and downloads.

If you are looking for a great holiday gift and a cheaper way to stay in touch with family and friends for the holidays AT&T wants me to share that they have released a new $45 Unlimited talk, text and 1 GBdata plan with the GoPhone. You receive unlimited nationwide texting and talking along with 1GB of data. You can also add on 500 more MB of data for $10 more. Additionally for us military folks who are who may be Canadian military or have family in Mexico you can pay an extra $10 and get unlimited calling to both places.

The phone is great because there are no contracts, it does everything a smartphone on a contract plan does, you can keep the kids entertained with fun apps and it’s affordable. Like I have always said having a phone is part of the military personnel lifestyle, so this makes for a great option if you want to avoid commitment

From November 21, 2014 until February 28, 2015, AT&T offers savings on smartphones:

*Receive $30 off GoPhone smartphones over $99

*Receive $10 off GoPhone smartphones under $99

13 Comments on Military Families Looking For A Cheaper No Contract Plan Can Do So With AT&T GoPhone Plus I’m Giving Away A FREE PHONE!

  1. We normally call each other if we are lucky, unfortunately, having a husband who is a Marine and a son who is also a Marine and soon to be stationed oversease.. FaceTime and Skype are the second best for our family. Staying in touch is special.. Really truly a blessing! Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. My favorite way to communicate is through Skype we always log in at the same time, all the kids enjoy it the most seeing their cousins!!

  3. We love to visit our family and talk face to face on the holidays. But if we can not be home for the holidays we are always planted right next to a phone to call or receive video chats from one another. When my husband was deployed for the holidays me, our son, and the rest of the family sat around the dinner table and Skyped him over the big screen. It was like having him home.

  4. We communicate with family over the holidays through calling and sometimes Skype. We rarely make it home this time of year so its great for the family to see our children.

  5. We like to communicate via text and FaceTime. It is very helpful since we don’t live anywhere near family, and it’s great to be able to see them every once in a while (but not too often) ;)

  6. Keeping in touch with family and friends around the world is never easy! But being able to hear their voice makes being apart from them (especially around the holiday season) a bit easier!

  7. We do everything from talk on the phone to skype, to FaceTime. My favorite thou is skype when I can’t be with my family.

  8. My favorite thing to do is call my family I’m a new army wife and we just moved from the west coast to the east it has been a huge change and the hardest part was leaving everyone behind I have two boys that have to call their grandma everyday. It’s hard when your so close to family and you have to leave them all behind so we try and talk as much as we can!
