Start A Blog
One of the challenges of military spouse life is holding down a career. In many cases frequent moves make this impossible, or you face the prospect of not being hired if the employer finds out you are a military spouse.

Over the next few months, you will see content on both sites that focuses on everything from starting a business to basic side hustles and so much more.
Free Blogging Mini Course
As creator of Army Wife 101, I was fortunate enough to unintentionally launch a blog that went from being more for self fulfillment to now my full time income. Anytime we PCS’ed I never had to worry because I was able to turn my lifestyle and hobbies into a career. And no, it never feels like work!
I’ll share more about my income and cool things I’ve gotten to do later on in the series.
Let’s just say that we’ve had some amazing experiences.
Below is one of our writers with actor Chris Hemsworth. Warner Brothers flew her out to Hollywood and pampered her with a stay at the London Hotel in Hollywood as she covered the premiere of the movie. Other cool experiences include hanging with actress Queen Latifah, a stint on Headline News that included interviewing the cast of Army Wives, A Google commercial shoot, a Tylenol commercial shoot, fun vacations to Universal Studios & Disney, plus so much more.
And yes some of these experiences I was paid for.
That’s why if you’ve ever wanted to start a blog, I am excited to give you this FREE simple mini course to help you build your own mini blogging laptop empire.
If you ever had something you wanted to share with the world, or a special talent you are really good at and have ample knowledge of, then starting a blog is for you. Imagine PCS’ing to Germany, Hawaii, or Italy and documenting your travels while possibly being paid for it. Or working with resorts and attractions all expenses paid! Why Is Blogging Good For Military Spouses?
No matter how much you love your spouse, there is nothing wrong with doing something for yourself. Blogging saved me during a long deployment. It gave me a chance to distract myself and find different things to create content on. When I eventually started making money that was icing on the cake.
Here are 5 reasons why you should start one:
- Self Fulfillment
- Opportunity to turn into a business
- Opportunity to earn income
- Great way to keep busy during military separations
- PCS friendly
What If I’m Not A Good Writer?
Don’t worry about not being a good writer, because these days there’s apps and websites that can help you to spell better and use proper grammar. One of the great things about blogging is that it taught me to be a better writer. When you are actually typing and writing for a living, you’re more apt to pay attention to things you normally wouldn’t.
