Are you a military spouse or veteran entrepreneur with a startup company? You may have discovered that many banks aren’t lending to small businesses. This often forces you, the business owner to work with unscrupulous lenders to grow your business.
To solve this problem, veterans Mark Rockefeller and Mickey Konson developed a new business funding option that put the needs of business owners first. As military veterans, they believed that American business owners deserved business funding options that were fair and honest.
The two believed that America’s heroes needed access to trusted digital finance, and StreetShares was born.

Interview with Mark Rockefeller of StreetShares
Mark L. Rockefeller is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of StreetShares, one of America’s fastest-growing financial technology companies. His mission is to build technology to improve the financial lives of the military community. He is an entrepreneur, writer, and frequent television commentator. Mark started his career in the U.S. Air Force and is an Iraq War Veteran.
He jokes, “Folks ask all the time about my last name all the time. Am I one of those Rockefellers? The short answer is not really. It’s not as close as a relationship as my mother-in-law was hoping.”
In an enjoyable and informative conversation, Mark explained how StreetShares can help fund the visions of veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs. StreetShares offers a suite of specialty finance products to the small business and veteran markets including business loans, lines of credit, and account receivables financing for the government contract community. StreetShares is proudly veteran-run and located outside of Washington, D.C.
