Eight years ago my husband and I picked up on a whim and drove to Charlotte NC to Carowinds. As usual we got a late start on the road , then got lost and winded up arriving at Carowinds later in the afternoon. We were alittle bummed as we had expected to spend the whole day in the park. It was during this time “Scarowinds” caught our eye because it started later that evening. Being that I am one of those people who loves to pretend she is in a scary movie this was right up my alley.
Scarowinds brought out the screaming girl inside my big strong former Marine husband , so take my word it is not for the faint of heart. I was so scared I allowed three other woman to hold onto my husband while in the walk through haunted house because they were beyond terrified, which allowed me to be in the middle of the pack.
I definitely don’t recommend this event for children under 13.
For those at Fort Bragg Charlotte is about a 2 hour drive and because there is so much to do there it is absolutely worth the road trip.
