Disclosure: I received a set of Yankee Candles to facilitate this review and share about their USO initiative. All opinions are my own.
You may know from past blog posts that I love Yankee Candle. Whenever I can I treat myself to one. I especially love them around the holidays because it is what makes my house have that holiday feel.
In fact if you love them for the same reason then you are going to absolutely love this new limited edition collection put out only for the the month of October. Yankee Candle recently sent me the new limited collection called the “Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Turkey Collection. I cleaned my house this weekend and I love to top it off with lit candles. The candles smell AMAZING!
My personal favorite was the Cranberry Sauce. It has notes of berries and reminded me of fresh sweet jellied cranberry sauce. I was shocked this was my favorite because I don’t like to really eat cranberry sauce but this topped them all for me.
The Sweet Potato Pie smelled wonderful too and does a good job at making me want to bake. I literally wanted to dig my finger in the candle but please don’t do that! It smells just like a really good buttery fresh sweet potato pie! I smelled lots of hints of vanilla , cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Lastly the “Turkey & Stuffing” smelled great too. It actually reminded me of my husband’s sausage dressing as they call it here in the south. This candle definitely smelled like Thanksgiving dinner. The hints of sage are what filled the room. Yum!
Not only is this collection great because of the way it smells but it is also for a good cause. Thanksgiving is also about giving back and that is what Yankee Candle is doing by partnering with the USO to give thanks to members of the Armed Forces.
From September 30-October 31st Yankee Candle will do the following initiatives in which you can participate in .
-
For every Turkey Dinner collection Large jar or tumbler candle sold online or in-store, Yankee Candle will make a $1 donation to the USO. Donations will help support the USO Holiday Box Program, which brings a touch of home during the holidays to service members who cannot celebrate with their families.
-
Yankee Candle will include autumn/holiday scent Car Jars in the USO 2013 Holiday Boxes.
