Ashley Madison the infamous site for married individuals who want to have an affair was hacked yesterday and compromising information including names and addresses were released on 32 million people. Of those millions, 15,000 (reportedly) were .mil and .gov addresses. Not shockingly over 6,000+ of those addresses belonged to Army personnel.

The DailyCaller reported “Exactly 104 emails belong to the “va.gov” domain. The second highest non-military department is the Federal Bureau of Prisons at 88 emails. Even the Department of Homeland Security turns up 45 emails”.

Some say there is an upside to the situation because Ashley Madison doesn’t verify email addresses meaning anyone can put in anyone’s address. This means that there are a lot of fake accounts. On the other hand, there is still a large amount of possibly compromising data on some military personnel.

Check to see if your email was utilized here.

My Thoughts:

Who in their right mind would be stupid enough to use their work email to join a site whose tagline is “Let’s Have An Affair”. For the sake of these folks families-let’s hope the emails were not utilized by real military personnel!
