Mr. ArmyWife101 in his truck shaving!

Winner Matthew Amber Cole

I’ve done posts before on shaving because it is mandatory in the military. The reason I have written about them here is because most of the time we (the wives) get stuck with purchasing the razors or better yet trying to find coupons to save on them because they can be costly.

Recently the people at Phillips gave my hubby the chance to try out the new Norelco Senso Touch 3D 1290x. My husband is on the road all the time, so shaving the traditional way and buying a million and one razors is not what works for him.

Key Things My Husband Loves About His New Razor

1. Currently my husband hasn’t charged his shaver in 2 weeks and he shaves once a day. The shaver also tells you how much battery you have left in the form of minutes.

2. He loves the dry/wet option because it allows him to still use shaving cream and get a close shave as if he was using a razor. In addition if he doesn’t enough time the dry option still gave him that close shave in the least amount of time possible.

3. The precision trimmer easily allowed him to shape his goatee right in the drivers seat of his truck.

4. He says he wishes he had this for those days when he was running late for PT and needed to shave. He recommends it for soldiers because it will give you that regulation clean cut without using a razor.

5. Easy cleaning is one of the last reasons hubby loved this. He stated he can simply open it up and run water on it to clean it out. Easy peezy!

6. Finally he loved the carrying case which had room for the shaver, cord, and the charger and is small enough to fit in his glove compartment.

While I (Krystel) can’t use the shaver I think it makes an excellent care package gift simply because of it’s convenience.

The SensoTouch 3D 1290x retails for $279.99 and while that may seem pricey, you pay more then that for razors in a year!

207 Comments on *Closed*The New Must Have Shaver For Military Guys…Plus Giveaway!

  1. Sheesh a minimum of 4 packs a month. They really aren’t cheap and I’m pretty sure an electric razor is well worth the win or penny!

    Merry Xmas!

  2. This would be amazing my husband is currently deployed and goes through refills every payday and has to shave everyday.. Sometimes even twice a day

  3. My husband has to buy razors every week. He has a Mach 3 and them things are not cheap at all for replacement blades. If we hadn’t gone to the store to get some he will just use mine. I can’t stand when he uses mine.

  4. My husband goes through a ton of razors! Probably one a week. I try to send him some in every care package but he told me the other day he’s been using the same one so I guess it’s time to send more!

  5. Not sure on the exact amount he uses. He currently uses Fusion Proglide as it does a great job for him. he shaves his face (2x a day) and neck and head once a day.
If he doesn’t shave twice a day, he gets “the look”. He does have a cheap Norelco shaver, but doesn’t do so well.
I hope I can win this for him; to save him some time and ‘us’ some money.
    Thanks ArmyWife 101

  6. DH says “probably about 5…6.” The thing is, he uses them past the time when he should toss them, so he should probably *actually* go through about 8-10. He shaves his face, neck and head. Having an electric would be REALLY great for him! And for me, since I could safely keep blades for myself without being paranoid that he’s sneaking them. (I use the same kind so we can buy bulk)

  7. My husband uses the Quatro. So far it is the best razor he has found that does not cost an arm and a leg. He still goes through multiple blades per month. Being that he is in the public eye constantly, he shaves multiple times during the day. This product would help him out greatly and stop him from having to use the restrooms at the recruiting stations to shave prior to a public event.

  8. The refills are more expensive than the actual handle razor! So I buy him a new razor set about every other month!!! Eeeeeekkkk!! I don’t even want to add up how much I spend!!

  9. Mine tries to make a pack of disposables last every 2 weeks. It would be amazing to send him this gift while he’s deployed!

  10. This would make a great gift for my husband. He goes through about 6 to 8 razors a month sometimes more. This would save lots of money and would be the perfect gift for him.

  11. I try and buy the more expensive ones b/c they seem to last a little longer than the cheaper ones so we go through an electronic razor about 3 to 4 times a year. I feel like we flush money down the toilet when we are spending roughly $50 a pop per razor but it’s a must in the Army …. and my hubby likes the electric ones more than your standard old fashioned way. :)

  12. He uses about 5 a mth and used his electric razor that just broke so this would be an amazing item.for him right now

  13. My husband goes thru about 7 or 8 razors a month, this is an awesome looking razor, might have to get for xmas or anniversary present

  14. My hubby goes through 8 packs of razors and possible more, because he shaves his head too. He also stills my razors

  15. My husband uses a fresh razor weekly, and we have two teenage boys, so i can hardly keep anything on the shelf!

  16. My hubs has to shave 2 times a day. He goes through razors quicker than I can drink a cup of coffee. I also have 3 boys that I am not looking forward to shaving bc I will own stock in the razor company.

    • This is an awesome givaway! We’d be over the moon especially with a family of six. Not buying expensive razors anymore would mean another family fun night! My husbands facial hair grows constantly.. Due to the speed it grows he has to shave every day and cut his hair twice a week. I know honestly he uses 4-6 packs. They’re def not cheap and to save money he only uses warm water no shaving cream. This gift and blessing would make for an excellent care package. Armywife101 you rock!

  17. Army regulations and shaving……a great topic and a great giveaway for one of us lucky ladies to give to our Soldier. Thank you Army Wife 101 and I sure hope i’m the lucky one who can bless my Soldier with a gift he can be grateful for every single day!

  18. It’s ridiculous how many razors he goes through. I don’t even count anymore, I just try to maximize coupons and constantly buy them. I know they’ll be used!

  19. My husband shaves both his head and his face, so he goes through quite a few. If he stretches them out (i.e.: uses them when they’re actually too dull to be of proper use!), then he can get away with buying a new pack probably every month/month-and-a-half.

  20. How many? I can’t keep count. My hubby who is part African American, grows very coarse facial hair, very quickly, and often has razor bumps because of the frequency he has to shave….everyday! We’ve tried the creams, mousses, and other facial hair stuff but to no avail, I think him receiving this Norelco Senso Touch 3D 1290X would be great for his 4:00am shaves and the ease of cleaning is an added plus. It would be the ideal present for him just coming back from Afghanistan. RANDOM.ORG PICK ME! PICK ME!

  21. My husband probably will go through 4 razors if he shaved everyday and even then doesn’t get a close shave! Command is always saying something about his 5 o’clock shadow at 1000! Since he is Guard, he doesn’t shave everyday (Thank God since razors are outrageous!!!).

  22. My husband is the most picky razor person I know. He has to get the kind that cost $30+ He goes through the whole pack in about a month. I saw the commercial for this razor yesterday, and though Oh what a great gift idea!

  23. He uses way to many to count! Just go to Sam’s club and buy in bulk! Always complaining about needing a new rasor! He uses 1 every 2-3 days!!

  24. My husband probably goes through 15 or so per month because he gets 2 uses out of each disposable. He does shave everyday (though not always on the weekends.) We use clippers on his head, though, so having the same system for his face would be awesome!

  25. My hubby usually goes through 5-6 of the spendy razors and if he’s really desperate he’ll steal mine! EW!! This would be PERFECT!!!

  26. My husband will only use Gillette Fusion for his head and face because so far, its the best he has found— which runs over $50 a month at Costco. When he was deployed, I sent him 3 pkgs of razors at a time so he wouldn’t run out! I even use his “used” razors for my legs because although they are too dull for his precious little face, they are still usuable for my body! I tell him he needs to call Gillette and try to get some coupons out of them :) This electric razor would definitely be a blessing to our budget! Would be nice to go out for a nice dinner instead of buying razors every month!

  27. My hubby uses the mach 3 turbo razors and we buy a refill pk of 3 a month at $15 at the commisary because they are most cheap there. He shaves every other day too.I was thinking about getting an electric one for xmas this year but the prices scare this cheap lady a lot each time I go to walmart or target to price one!lol

  28. My husband is soooo picky about razors! And it completely grosses him out to share mine. Lol. He doesn’t use disposables if he can help it, since he has such a “baby face”, but the less expensive cordless/rechargeable razors do get more expensive to replace.

  29. I don’t know the exact number of razors my husband goes through in a month but I know its a lot. A lot of the time he has to shave twice a day because his facial hair is so thick and grows so fast. If I had to guess how many I’d say about 10 maybe more. He would LOVE to have this for sure!
