Very little incites the holiday spirit more than the the aroma of a fresh Christmas tree in your home. Combined with the season’s myriad of sights, sounds, and tastes, the smell of this special centerpiece conjures nostalgic feelings of childhood, family and love.

Just one whiff of a fresh evergreen transports me back to childhood. We’d pick out the perfect tree from the farm, I’d watch my dad make necessary adjustments to the height and shape, and then we’d all decorate it while listening to Bing Crosby and other holiday classics. That magical aroma filled the air while my cat napped on the tree skirt, my brother and I tried to guess what was inside our beautifully wrapped boxes, and my mom lovingly looked on while sipping her morning coffee.

Oh, how a real Christmas tree can make your spirits bright!

Delivering the Spirit of Christmas to Military Families

This holiday season, Trees for Troops® – a program sponsored by the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx Corporation – is celebrating bringing real, fresh-cut Christmas Trees to your base. Now in its 12th consecutive year, Trees for Troops®  will deliver more than 18,000 real Christmas trees to 65 military bases during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Thanks to the generosity of more than 400 Christmas tree growers and retailers in 29 states, your military family may make memories this year around a real fresh-cut Christmas tree. Watch how Minter’s Farm is preparing trees for America’s heroes and their families.

“People appreciate the sacrifices military members and their families make each and every day,” says Tom Dull, President of the National Christmas Tree Association and owner of Dull’s Tree Farm in Thorntown, Indiana. “And, as Christmas Tree farmers, we want to provide a little Christmas spirit and maybe start a new tradition with military families to be able to experience a traditional Christmas with a Real Tree.”
