I’ve worked from home since the day I got married. In fact I never worked outside the home. I did try, but twas military life.

So, of course the easiest route was for me to find side hustles that could earn me a few bucks, and from there I found pretty good remote jobs where I was earning a steady paycheck. Today Army Wife 101 and our sister sites are my full time business, but searching for work at home jobs and side hustles are still a passion of mine.

This week we scoured the web to find these remote job/side hustle opportunities for military spouses and here’s what we found:

Discover Military Customer Service Rep

Discover Card is seeking Veterans and dependents for remote customer service positions starting at $16.50 an hour. You do have to be able to train in Dover, Delaware for 10 weeks so this position is suited for someone who is close to the area or has the ability to leave home for an extended period of time. that said, after the 10 weeks you will be able to work full time from home with full 40 hours weeks, insurance benefits and other perks like a stipend to pay for your internet. R. Riveter Independent Contractor

R. Riveter is a milspouse owned company that makes handmade canvas and leather purses and bags. The bags are assembled by military spouses worldwide. They are extremely well known in this space and actually won a deal on Shark Tank some years back. If you are crafty and good at making things you can apply to be a part of their mobile team where you will assemble their handmade goods at home.This is a 1099 position so you get to set your own hours. Amazon Positions For Veterans/Milspouses

Amazon has a number of positions that can be done at home or at the very least on your own time. These positions include things like virtual customer service, campus pickup and many more. They have also made a commitment to hiring Veterans and military spouses which makes them a great company to work for. Learn more about military opportunities here.

Centene

While you will most likely need to specialize in nursing or some aspect of the medical field Centene hires case managers and nurse coordinators. Some of these positions are remote. Centene has made a commitment to hiring Vets and Military Spouses. The woman in charge of hiring is the spouse of an Army combat veteran and bronze star recipient, so she understands the military life. Learn more here.

You’re probably familiar with them for insurance. They too have a military spouse hiring program and hire for remote positions for titles such as analysts and underwriters. Details are here.

U-Haul Customer Service Positions

Founded by a Navy Vet U-Haul has been rated #13 as the most military friendly company to work for. They currently hire vets and milspouses to work from home in customer service positions. You’ll need a HS diploma or GED, a home computer and an internet connection. Learn more here.

Enterprise Rentals

Enterprise Rental is military friendly and has a numbers of ways and initiatives that they work with military on. They also have a ton of work from home customer service positions that you can view here.

Joy Run Military Base Operations Managers

Joy Run is an app service that lets people in your community run errands for you while they are already out. As you can imagine they want to reach military since many of us are one car families, or don’t always have babysitters and can sometimes use someone to make a store run for you. They are hiring Vets or military spouse to be growth managers on military installations. You’ll need to have experience in digital marketing, and basically grow the business at your military installation. Learn more here.
