Everyday I wake up and head downstairs to brew my perfect pot of coffee. I’m not high tech or savvy with fancy pods and machines that have too many features. I am old school. I like to see my coffee drip, and hear percolating as the water flows through. I love the smell of a nice pot of dark roasted coffee.

If you follow the Army Wife 101 team on social media then you know we post about coffee a lot. It’s why I personally was so excited when Community Coffee asked me to gather some friends and readers together for a fun brunch at my home.

This past Friday I invited some fellow friends and readers to my house for an awesome breakfast and just some “Me” time. It was a time for military spouses to just be able to sit, chat, eat good food and make new friends. I even splurged a bit and hired a private chef who happens to be a Veteran. He showered our palettes with the most amazing food.

I held the brunch outside in my backyard. This was our table set up.

After everyone arrived we were served an amazing meal which consisted of a fruit salad served in martini glasses with homemade whipped cream and a sangria syrup. That was followed by cinnamon waffles and chicken. After that we were served the most amazing cheddar and butter grits with shrimp in a wine butter sauce on top.

And just when we thought we couldn’t eat anymore, our chef Keith brought out homemade blueberry muffins and two big fresh pots of coffee which was the perfect way to end the morning.

My friends enjoyed themselves and were also happy to learn that we had yet another reason to enjoy that extra cup of Community Coffee. Not only is it the official coffee of the USO centers in North Carolina, but they also have the #MilitaryMatch program.

This is a great way to send coffee to a loved one stationed abroad who has to have their daily cup of Joe or Josephine. Currently Community Coffee has shipped over 4.2 million pounds of coffee to military personnel.
