There has been alot of chatter recently of rumors that a Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang’s are coming to the Fayetteville area. However , based on my research these are just rumors but they are rumors that I would love to see come true.

If there is one thing Fayetteville has it’s places to eat. That being said there are not enough what I call upscale chain restaurants here. Applebee’s and Chili’s are good for quick bites before you head to the movies or if you want to be bombarded by the college crowd. As a connoisseur ( I say that humorously) of chain restaurants I believe Fayetteville needs some more above average chain restaurants. I personally get annoyed with the idea that if I want to go anywhere other then the above or typical sports bar/wing joint that I have to make the trek to Raleigh. For some people this may not be a big deal but I love date nights and a little more of a mature environment. Some people will say I don’t eat at those type of spots often enough to need them here but there are quite a few people who take pleasure eating out weekly , and while going to Raleigh is nice on occasion …sometimes you just want to be close to home.

I can just see myself chomping down on some Chicken Lettuce Wraps like the ones I had some time ago below but I digress!

I think these chains need to seriously consider coming to Fayetteville , not only for us Braggers but for the people in the surrounding areas who don’t want to make the trek to Raleigh either.

Fayetteville doesn’t only need some higher end chain restaurants , but I for the life of me cannot understand why our town does not have a WHOLE FOODS. I mean gee whiz this is Fort Bragg home of a bunch of people who like to eat healthy or at least are trying to stay fit. Why do we have every other grocery store and no natural foods chains? I know a bunch of military people who would love nothing more then to have a Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s at their disposal.

Braggernites it’s to unite and make your voices heard. If you think having one of these places listed above would be or wouldn’t be great, I would love to hear your thoughts below.

12 Comments on 3 Eateries That Fayetteville NC…AKA Fort Bragg Needs!

  1. Definitely agree! Coming from somewhere that has all of the above listed places fairly close to me and not having them here drives me nuts!! And can I add we NEED an Apple Store!! Every time I think “oh I need to foot the apple store for _____” I remember I need to go allllll the way to Raleigh for what may end up only being a 20-30min trip to the store!

  2. Try living at Fort Polk. Nearest chain restaurant (and mall for that matter) is an hour away and it’s an Applebee’s! We were supposed to get a chili’s on post a while ago but that fell through.

  3. Really????? That’s your big complaint??? That you don’t have big name chain restaurants???? Do you even have any idea what kind of food products you’re eating at those big chain places??? Instead of asking for some corporate name because that’s all you’re familiar with why don’t you ask for some small-town organic and non-GMO restaurants. Imagine how healthy your family will be. Imagine how healthy the community will be.

    • Hi M!

Thanks for your thoughts. Well contrary to my sarcastic blog post, I am very familiar with many eateries and not just chains. I’m pretty cultured and frequent non chains alot of the time. However living in Fayetteville we have to be realistic. These days everything is an issue with food. Even the so called GMO and organic products aren’t so clean. So unlike some others I don’t kill myself going out on a limb because there will always be a product with something.

I don’t take shame that we like to eat out. If some people want to eat organic and Non GMO all day by all means do so. However, I won’t apologize for liking to go out to eat here and there.

This wasn’t a complaint , this was more of an I wish blog post. I guess you missed the part where I asked for some fresh market stores such as Whole Foods and Trader Joes.

  4. I understand. When we were stationed in Wyoming, I so missed some awesome restaurants. Especially The Cheesecake Factory. I love that place so much! Now we’re in Oklahoma and we have one 25 minutes away. *Happy dance*

  5. I totally agree this is why I actually miss Alaska. I miss the food there so much, I was so excited to come to the lower 48 for a better variety. That was so crushing when I found out how bad the selection is here. I just really want gourmet pizza, Polynesian food, pho, portabella mushroom sandwich, my list goes on. I guess we can never replace our favorite spots in Alaska.

  6. I’d really like a Cheesecake Factory myself, but if you are looking for something a lil higher class, head downtown. They might not be name brand higher class joints but most of the eateries downtown are classy, reasonably priced, and offer up a variety of ambiances. So check it out, you may just find your new fav spot!
