I have struggled with my weight forever. It’s been up and down and when I had my son it went up even more but never quite came down. Thank god for my fabulous curves ahem and a Kim Kardashian butt (okay not quite like Kim’s) but since she and J-lo made having a big butt cool I say thank goodness for it, because it’s what has kept my body image self esteem high.
Either way I remember when “The Biggest Loser” did the military version and how much I rooted for every body just for having the courage to appear on there in front of the world and show the challenges of losing weight, not to mention the spotlight it put on our military peeps. I don’t think I would had the courage to do it in front of everyone.
Today I received word that the “Biggest Loser Resort” ( who know they had one) is setting out to defeat obesity and diabetes within the military.
According to the Air Force Medical Support Agency proposal titled Preventing Obesity in Military Communities dated Aug. 29, 2011, “Obesity directly impacts the U.S. military, affecting the health and readiness of active duty service members and their families. Costs related to obesity, conservatively estimated at almost $2 billion per year, are incurred to the Department of Defense through medical expenses associated with obesity and its related co-morbidities as well as absenteeism, recruitment, and retention.
To help with this ongoing problem “The Biggest Loser Resort” is offering a 15% military discount to Active Duty service members, retired personnel their spouses with valid military ID’s.
The three resorts are located in Ivins, UT, Malibu, CA, and Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY. Adults who attend will received a structured weight loss experience as well as access to nutritionist , certified trainers and executive chefs plus much more.
