If you are an avid recycler or person who needs alittle motivation to recycle you may be interested in the new machines that are showing up on many US AAFES Exchanges.

According to the AAFES FB page over 200 recycling kiosks have been placed at military bases around the country. In a nutshell you can recycle your cans and plastic in exchange for points that can go towards merchandise, dinners, travel and more.

Some of the places include Blockbuster, Domino’s Pizza plus more.

The machines are said to be easy to use and involve simple touch screen and swiping of a card. I don’t know about you but I like free and quite honestly it’s a win win situation, you get to help the earth and yourself at the same time.

  1. I’ve seen one at the AAFES gas station but wasn’t sure what it was. We recycle anyway and always have SO MUCH, I think I would rather use the kiosk though if I can get free stuff for it.

  2. I saw one here at Ft Hood, and also Ft Sam Houston. They are very easy to use, similar to the machines up in MI (if anyone knows about those). The card goes on your key chain which makes it even better.

  3. Any chance they have one on Fort Bragg? If so where? ( sorry just got here 4 days ago still looking around to see what has changed)

  4. @Ange, I hope they’re not as smelly as the bottle return areas in MI! I always dreaded that part of going to the grocery store. Not to mention having to pay for the bottle deposits in the first place. That’s the only state I live in that had them. I just hope they have more than one, especially if people start bringing in bags and bags of cans like they do in MI
