I certainly love downtown Fayetteville, North Carolina (home of Fort Bragg) and all it has to offer, but I love visiting new places in my near my home in Spring Lake. I love seeing how Spring Lake is building itself up and the entrepreneurs are out in full force with lots of brand new retail businesses opening. The other day I spent the day in Fayetteville walking around downtown, eating lunch, and indulging in amazing Nutella cupcakes. After letting all that wear off, it was time to head back home and of course the coffee addict in me needed my daily fix since I hadn’t had a chance to get any that morning. I remembered that I had come across a new coffee shop called Village Coffee right here in Spring Lake (minutes from the Butner Gate) and made my way there. I am all about supporting local businesses-so this was right up my alley.

The Coffee House

The atmosphere is friendly and I was greeted pleasantly by one of the two owners (who both are Veterans) and one of the baristas.  I even saw the mayor of Spring Lake Christopher Rey in there enjoying a cup of coffee. Village Coffee is spacious which is a plus for me because I’ve been to many coffeehouses where you are right on top of each other. Moms with kids should definitely make this a go to because they offer a kids play room. The room is fully loaded with toys, a TV, and even a chalkboard wall. Where else can you officially give your kids permission to write on the walls? For those wanting to hold a meeting there is a private meeting room that fits up to 12 people that you can rent for $10 an hour. It includes wifi as well. There is plenty of seating which is another plus!

The Coffee and the Menu

I will admit I was pretty tired that day so I didn’t get a chance to completely scope out the entire menu, but they had a vast selection of frappes, espressos, pastries, and more. We tried out the “Toasted Marshmellow” and “Praline” espressos and they were really good. Each cup is also adorned with a chocolate covered espresso bean which were good enough that we bought a full cup of them. Lastly what I’m really loving is all the promotions that Village Coffee is offering. For instance Mondays are Mocha Mondays where you get 20% off all mocha drinks, Fridays are Frappe Fridays and they also offer a daily military discount to military personnel.
