I knew it was only a matter of time before a series similar to the “Real Housewives” franchise was created and I was right. In all fairness I can’t say that this show will be trashy as those or even comparable but since the casting company is the one behind such reality hits as “Jersey Shore” and “Millionaire Matchmaker” only time will tell.

I just received word that Doron Ofir casting is seeking military wives for a new show titled “Military Wives of San Diego“.

In Their Words

Military Wives will prove once and for all that behind every man stands a great woman, none more so than the man in service to his country. Their wives are the unsung heroes that are also making sacrifices, spending their nights together, holding down the fort on home soil. This brand new DocuSeries offers the unprecedented opportunity to document their lifestyle as they navigate the complicated journey of being in a relationship with or married to the military. From deployments to homecomings, enlisted men to officers, the newly engaged to recently divorced, Military Wives aims to reveal the true story behind love and life in the military.

Now while the description doesn’t sound so bad I am dying to see the direction this show will take.

How To Be Part Of The Show

While I doubt there will be any army wives on the show because of the location I still am putting the information out there for anyone who might reside in the San Diego area. (Personally I think a “Military Wives of Fort Bragg” would make for better tv…just saying!)

If you are over 21 and are open to sharing every single aspect of your life with the public then visit http://www.militarywivescasting.com and submit an application.

I am the first to admit that if this show premieres I will be the first to watch just out of sheer curiosity but since we have had this discussion before I am sure there will be strong opinions about this . I would love to hear them feel free to share below in the comments section.

32 Comments on O-M-G …They Finally Did It…They Are Creating A Military Wives Reality Show!

  1. I’m all for it..lol. I saw it coming too! I just always thought it hardly had chance bc of security restrictions on most posts.

  2. I agree I think fort bragg would be pretty interesting! I think Alaska would be nice too! lord knows the transition is extreme with the weather

  3. Well see if this show shows military wives in a very stereotypical way. Hopefully it doesn’t do that because we don’t need to have a bad reputation.

    • I think they need to do one from Fort Campbell, KY! LOL! I knwo that we have already had the show coming home filmed here but still.

  4. I figured they would do this since they are running out of things to do.. We as military wives have enough on our plates than to have a so called reality show about us… When I was a civilian wife i heard bad rumors about us.. that we are stuck up. With everything that we do for this country like the spouse that wear the uniform our lives are hard enough and dont need the extra ridicule that this type of shows have had in the past.

  5. Although I’m sure I’ll watch it, I would never want to be on it. We were almost stationed in San Diego and we are Army, so there are a few soldiers there. I’m interested to see how it turns out. Thanks for sharing!

  6. I feel as if they are going to make it the stereotypical wives cheating on their husbands while they are in Iraq or something like that. Idk..I wouldn’t even consider getting on the show

  7. I knew it would be coming as well. If they want to make it accurate they should go to Hawaii and get all branches of the military since everyone is so close together. I will admit, ill be watching! Hopefully we wont be embarassed. I very much hope it is enlisted wives and officers wives.

  8. If you look at the promo they say they want your story whether you’re “up all night worrying or up all night partying” and that they want “six brazen women”. If that doesn’t send up the red flag, I don’t know what will. They’re not looking for a show about how most of us live, it wouldn’t sell. They’re going to play into the stereotypes and drama to get viewers. I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole, but I’m sure there are plenty that will and they’re the type that they’re looking for!!!

  9. I have a bad feeling about this show.
And anyways, if they DO pick wives that are the “stereotype” (aka. cheating on their husbands while they are deployed), how stupid could you be to cheat while on national TV? They have to know that their husbands would watch and catch them…
Let’s hope and pray that they portray the REAL military wives, not the slutty stereotypes..

    • Some people will do anything to be famous..including wreaking their marriage for ratings…sad. But also remember…they may not even be real wives….

  10. this i dont think its gonna be “real”. its a reality show and they are going to want rating. idk..will watch and see i guess

  11. Heck, i would do it but my husband would not even give it a thought much less to participate. Nonetheless, i am curious to see what, who, and how this show is going to portray.

  12. I think they really should do one from Fort Bragg that being where I was raised and now being a military spouse I know the craziness that goes on it would be worth a show I will watch

  13. The show will probably be crazy n the women trashy….I haven’t seen one “reality” show where there wasn’t some type of drama, fighting, n cursing….just something else to have the public look at and think all military wives are the same…smdh!

  14. I knew it was coming!!!!!!! I personally have to agree, The Real Houseswives of Ft. Bragg will really a #1 hit show.

  15. im a wife in san diego and i think itll be funny to see how it plays out. although im a marine wife i know we all do our part for our guys. not many people know whats it like to go a whole year or more when you spouse is gone. and yes mine has been gone on deployment for a year so its not just the army wives that go throught it. my hat goes off to anybody married to a service member no matter the branch. we all have our hardships and drama.. but i do think they should do one from each service that would be awesome, then like have a crazy big reunion show where we all come together. lol

  16. I as well figured it was only a matter of time. But to be honest, it seems like they want “drama” between the family. If they wanted a typical wife show, it should be at a major deployment area (such as Ft. Bragg). I am not very excited about this, because I think it will be a bad smear on the military (what reality show isn’t a bad smear on some group?)
I had thought that a good reality show would be PCS (I had my first one this year and the drama would have made a good tv show LOL). There is potential but I just can’t trust Hollywood.

  17. Like AW101, I am worried about it because of the company behind it’s reputation. If it turns into a trashy free for all, I am going to be highly upset. If it is done tastefully, I can see myself becoming a fan of it.

  18. I hate reality tv because all it is made for is to create drama. Think about it on all the commercials they show fights or them talking bad about each other. Military wives are strong and strong for each other waiting for their men to come home. The producers of reality shows pick specifically for people that will drama. So i hope the wives they pick will uphold the reputation of every other military wife.. I don’t think they should do it period it’s a way to get more money, cause more drama and try and show everyone the life of a military wife when in REALITY someone watching it will never be able to fully understand the feeling of their hunny being deployed.

  19. I’m a military wife an I really think its a good idea, but than again it could be a bad idea. Things sometimes starts out ok,but than end up really bad an trashy looking so I would said I got to see the first episode.

  20. I too think this could be potentially damaging to the real military wife. There is already a stereo type that makes it hard for us regular girls to catch a break! And I think this show could just bring more harm then good… I mean if its from the people who made jersey shore what it is, that’s just a warning sign right there! I might watch a few episodes to see what its all about but if it turns out to be what I’m fearing that’s one less real military wife that will be watching!

  21. I think this is a bad idea, personally. What ever happened to the no-drama no-gossip policy that’s recommended for all military spouses? This sounds like an easy way to get in trouble.. O_o
