Last week you probably saw me, tweeting, instagramming and Facebooking some pictures with camera equipment in my home and pictures of me in front of a camera.
Well I can’t reveal to much yet but a lot of people asked me what was that all about , so I wanted to share just a tidbit.
The filming was an introduction to me as a blogger who will appear some weeks on a new show about parenting on the HLN News channel, which is the sister channel of CNN. If you are having a brain fart and saying what is HLN , think of the same channel that plays Nancy Grace , Dr.Drew and Morning Express W/Robin Meade. I love her because she always does the “Salute The Troops” segments and they are always very in tune with our military.
As exciting as this all is to me I haven’t really said to much about it because, it is TV and anything is possible. Hell they could say you know what we don’t need you to appear anymore. So I rather it all just happen and then scream to the world that I will be a weekly panelist on a show. In the mean time I will just say that I will definitely be appearing on the show via Skype.
So Why Were They At Your House?
Well I along with some other bloggers were selected to be part of the show and they were filming a day in the life of “Army Wife 101”. They watched me do some blogging tasks online, checked out products that I review and even headed out to the mall with me and my best friend. It was awesome having everyone think we were celebs or something or filming some kind of reality show. I even seen two people pull out their camera phones …who knows maybe I’ll wind up on Youtube.
The producer and the camera man were amazing. I really had no clue how much went into filming. I listened as they threw around terms like b-roll and portrait shots. They even set up a mini train track looking thingie in my home to make the camera roll smooth. Who knew all that could fit in such a tiny space.
I felt like a real super star when I did my interview in front of the camera about blogging, how I started Army Wife 101 and my life as a blogger. The producer said I did really good and was natural and if I do say I think I did a pretty good job myself!
I even had a camera check with the CNN producers and tech room crew in Atlanta and they checked my camera that I will be using to appear on the show and my lighting which was really fun.
Misty and Greg arrived early at around 7am and left after dinner that evening. I am honored to have had a chance to spend some time with them and hopefully make a great TV debut.
The show is still in the works and once all details finalized you know I will be sure to post them here!
Happy Tuesday!

Wow that’s so awesome. Congrats =) and to think all this came from wanting to start a blog for fellow military wives. All your hard work is paying off in such a great way. Super happy for you girl!
Very, very cool Krystal! You have been, and continue to be, a wonderful voice for military spouses. They’d be smart to use you- you already have a super awesome fan base! :-) Best of luck!!!

Hi would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re using? I’ve loaded
your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog
loads a lot quicker then most. Can you recommend a good
internet hosting provider at a honest price? Thank you, I
appreciate it!
