You may or may not be familiar with singer “Ashanti” depending on the genre of music you listen to. I happen to know who she is music wise because her music was the soundtrack to many of my Summers in the early 2000’s. Surprisingly I really didn’t know she was an actress.
Nonetheless you and I will get to see her showcase her acting skills regularly when the Season 7 of “Army Wives” premieres.
She will play Latasha Durant a single mom of three ,one of whom is a six year old suffering from cystic fibrosis.
Other cast members joining the show include Torrey Devito of “Pretty Little Liars” and newcomer Elle McLemore.
Army Wives returns in the Spring of 2013.

I’m really excited for this new season of Army Wives!! I love new characters, I hope they bring the drama :))) what’s tv without a little drama?!? Oh and I adore Ashanti. Her character ever has almost the same name as me lol

I think she’ll be awesome! I have to catch up on the last season because I stopped watching halfway through… It was way too many storylines and new characters going on. I felt like they did way too much with the last season. But I’ll probably watch it sometime in the near future…
