I have always talked about working from home. In fact I started working from years ago ,first as a dispatcher for an adult phone company and then as a customer service representative for a company where I took orders for informericals. Before you judge me on the adult phone thing , I will have you know I was not a PSO for that particular job I just took the billing information and patched the calls through *ahem*…not my proudest moment lol!

Nonetheless I came across this article where thanks to the White House “Joining Forces” Initiative to support military families eleven companies have agreed to offer work at home positions to military spouses.
Of course the military wife political police are moaning because they are mad that Michelle Obama’s name is attached to this initiative. You know what I don’t have time to worry or whine about something helpful just because I don’t like someone for whatever outlandish reason. As much as I refuse to speak heavy politics on Army Wife 101 that women is not the president and damn it if you want a chance to work from home then focus on that and not how the opportunity came to be. If you are wondering where this vent came on just search through your local Facebook military spouse groups that posted the article and you will find the political band wagoners who complain for the hell of it , even when there is nothing to complain about.

I get letters and questions weekly about working from home and here’s the chance to get in on it and most likely receive some military spousal preference. Can’t you just imagine working from home in your drawers oops I mean pajama pants , stopping to eat whenever you want and catching up on a court show or two in the midst of earning some cash?

i tried alpine access but they have a credit rating restriction….do you know if they all do? can’t fix my credit without money but can’t get a job without good credit????
Malinda yes some of them do have credit restrictions which I too don’t get since you need money to pay bills. You can try West , Liveops Cloud 10.
I have bad credit, but I got on with Arise Virtual Solutions, Inc. Try them…you get to schedule your own hours and pick the client you wish to service (from the opportunities list).

Although Alpine Access does credit checks, there are quite a few companies that do not. I would recommend checking into U-haul, Capital One, or American Express. These companies offer online employment opportunities as well. Best of luck to you.

I told you, its easier for people to complain than to get off their butts and do something, honestly I don’t want to hear them crying and complaining about no jobs and no opportunities……they can facebook all day, they can also work from home. Its just another excuse for some to do nothing.
I’ve been looking around and most of the “Work at Home” opportunities for other people end up being rip-offs. The trick is finding a product or service that you are able to control and you’ll get all of the profit.
I agree with you there, V Perry, too many of them gripe about no job but really haven’t tried. Usually get the excuse of “I have kids”, I have to be there for hubby”, etc…
Which is why I have been spreading the word of what I do to those military families I am tied to… I just got a friend (fellow military spouse) to start on the process of working with Arise. I had another one, a while back, do the same. I am hoping I have more…I just can’t tell if they “bit” or not because I really don’t know them; I just know I have shared the info with them.
There is a saying, “You can lead the horse to the water, but you can’t make it drink.” I have to keep reminding myself that.

I know several instructors that left Sykes to work for Arise Virtual Solutions, Inc. Don’t know much about Sykes and not sure why the ones I know left Sykes, but from some of their pics they look like they had fun at Sykes.

I LOVE working from home! I am in Direct Sales and it’s a fairly booming industry. It self generates. Sell your awesome product, make money, buy stuff so others make money, sell more product and more people sign on to sell awesome products. American capitalism at it’s best. I LOVE the company I work for too. I love being my own boss, being at home to raise my own kids and making my own hours and as you say “working in my pjs and stopping whenever I need to.” If the right opportunity presents itself and it’s something you want to do, then seize it! There are more work at home jobs in direct sales that don’t require credit checks.

Are any of these non call center jobs? I currently work for USAA…and unfortunately lately a lot of people have been quitting and seeking other opportunities. I’m part-time with them right now, will probably stay on board since I have good benefits. Does anyone know if any of these entail different tasks other than inbound/outbound calls?
I have the same question. I don’t have any talent for sales, and I hate talking on the phone to people I don’t know. I like the idea of working from home, but 99% of those I know doing so are doing sales, blind telephone calls (to or from complete strangers), or home day care. For those who can do these things, more power to them and God Bless Michelle Obama for doing something to help military wives find these opportunities. :)
You might want to try temporary agencies for labor and office jobs … they always have temp jobs and many that may turn into permanent jobs, since you don’t want a call center job.

I love this. To be perfectly honest, I really don’t care who put it through and don’t care whose name is attached to it. Finally, something to support US! I can’t tell you how many times, since I’ve gotten out of the military, I’ve been told, “Oh, well, you’re *just* a spouse. You don’t get (insert benefit here).” S’cuse me? Not to mention how many employers have turned down myself and other spouse friends because we’re “just transient” and won’t be long-term beneficial to a business. I get that, but damn. I’m thankful for it, too, in a way, since that’s what got me to working from home, too. Thanks for this – definitely going to share it!
I just started with Izigg 90210 8 months ago. I love the fact that I can work from anywhere and there are no territories. There are no credit checks (can’t understand why you would need that), just a $450 start up fee to get your own text platform to use for demos when showing prospective agents or retail customers how to use text marketing. If you don’t like parties and you get moved around the country you are in luck. I can totally see this as a good venue for military wives/soldiers or students to make money with residual income. I think this is fantastic! Finding legit work at home opportunities can be a challenge, and this takes some of the guess work out of the whole “is it a scam” scenario. For some other legit work at home sites, I recommend FlexJobs and The Work at Home Woman. Well, I may be one of those people that complain about Mrs Obama attaching her name to help the military spouses find jobs. Give me a break… I say if that woman wants to help, she can tell her dear husband to quit cutting the military pay (to start). Anybody could say “hire the military veterans and their spouses” It has been said time and time again, but because the president’s wife saying it society is now jumping? I say, “yippee” (sarcastically). There…I am done with my soapbox.
In actuality, I have found all my jobs on all my own. I have not had any luck with working on Post, even with the idea of military spousal preference. I have found jobs through working temporary agencies and eventually get on board with a company. This latest one, work at home with Arise, I found from an ad in the local paper of a corporation who contracts with Arise. I started out as a customer service rep and now I assist in teaching new potential reps for one of the clients of Arise. Again, I found that ALL my own…not because some “big wig” said so….

Hi everyone! I’m currently stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ and I cannot for the life of me find work! Both of my children are at school full time and I’ve decided to research work at home opportunities but each one always asks for some sort of up front fee. I’ve always been leery of things like this because of all the scams that are out there. I’ve taken the advice of the other posts and checked out the Arise USA company, but they too ask for a fee for the background check. My question is, is this a legitimate company and will it help me with WAH opportunities?
Raven it’s very legit. May other work at home companies require background checks as you will be handling other people’s credit card information and so forth. That is what the background check fee is.

I would love to have a part time job & I’m not really concerned about health insurance, even 20 hours a week & with that being said some of us don’t have the option for childcare which eats up your pay making it not worth it to bring home $100 then you have gas, etc. Until I can find something while my kids are in school volunteering my time will help me Lord willing build up my resume.

For years and years I have looked for legit work from home jobs and like many of you have found nothing but scams. I have to say that I really think that since blogging has become more popular it has become easier to weed out the scams. I currently work from home for a direct sales company and it is the best thing I ever did! My husband is a disbaled vet and we have three children. It leaves me to be the full care taker of everyone in the home, driving everywhere, dr. appointments etc… Direct sales by no means will make you rich quick but if you dedicate time and really WORK then you will not be upset down the road. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
