Hilton To Hire More Military Spouses At Several Army Bases

I talk about working from home quite frequently on Army Wife 101. I’ve shared my story several times of how I’ve worked as a customer service representative from home and also as a virtual assistant.

Sometime back we heard that the White House’s Joint Forces Initiative had partnered with several companies who pledged to hire military spouses for a certain percentage of their work at home positions. One of those companies was Hilton Worldwide and I shared about their initial openings a while back. Recently I reached out to a contact there and found out that Hilton has upcoming trainings and will be hiring spouses from some more Army installations.

Here’s verbatim some of the helpful info I received:

To give you a little background, in Dec. 2012 Hilton Reservations and Customer Care signed on with Joining Forces and pledged 3.5% of their work from home openings to Military Spouses. They launched their first Military Spouse class in Killeen, TX in partnership with Ft. Hood in Jan. 2014 and hired 26 Military Spouses. They then followed that up with:

•   El Paso, TX: Partnering with Ft. Bliss and hiring 18 Military Spouses.
• Jacksonville: Partnering with Mayport , Naval Station JAX and Kings Bay hiring 16 Military Spouses.

They went back to Ft. Hood in May, hiring another 20, and they wrapped up 2014 at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina hiring 26 spouses. To date they have hired 156 spouses!

They start by hosting an in Person Info Session to provide potential applicants in depth details about the training, position and benefits of working for Hilton. They set up a classroom in the local area, preferably on post if possible, and send a Trainer there. The new hires train in person for 5 weeks and upon completion of training are able to work in the comfort of their own home. They offer part time or full time schedules.

 This year they plan to offer the following:

• Ft. Stewart: Feb. 16th
• Ft. Benning: Feb. 23rd
• Ft. Bragg: March 30th
• Ft. Bliss: TBD in April
