I promise you I am at Dollar General or another dollar store a minimum of four times a week. I love these stores because they always have the cutest odds and ends that are super affordable.

Dollar General specifically has always gotten the thumbs up from me because of their dedication to our troops and the fact they have also been listed as one of “America’s Top Military Friendly Employers”.

It’s no surprise that Dollar General has partnered with P&G and has come up with another way to show support for our troops. You can now participate in their “Honoring Our Everyday Hero” program by uploading a video to their “Honoring Our Everyday Hero” section on the Dollar General FB page.

I just did a video on there and took me 26 seconds exactly and it always feels good to say “Thank You” to my husband.

I encourage you to take a moment and share about your everyday hero with America!

Visit http://www.dollargeneral.com/everydayheroes to upload your Thank You video.

  5. It is important to say thank you to our troops because they are a portion of the population that are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom, and are doing this while away from their own families, and are willing to do it over and over again. Talk about selfless!

  6. It’s important to thank them and thank them often. there is so much negativity these day where the military is concerned. I personally don’t like to hear it.
    They do so, so much.
The DOD should not be suffering cutbacks. I thank my husband everyday, even though he isn’t home at the moment.

  7. I think it’s important to thank our troops because they are the ones allowing to live freely and without worry. They are putting their lives in danger and are away from their friends and family while we get to live our lives normally. Plus everyone likes to know they are appreciated. Let’s let them know their sacrifices aren’t going unnoticed and always remember to say thank you :)

  8. It’s important because they are the men and women protecting our freedom. The LEAST they deserve is a thank you!

  9. It’s very important to thank our men and women who serve in the armed forces. They sacrifice so much for us so that we can be free. It’s also important to thank a vet and never forget the ones who gave all. “All gave some… Some gave all.”

  10. Thanking the troops is important because they aren’t troops forever. When these troops come home and are able to find work as EMTs, firefighters, police officers, teachers, bus drivers, or any number of other things, we should continue to thank them for taking the things they learned in uniform and transferring that knowledge and those skills/abilities to a productive civilian job.

  11. It’s important to thank the troops because of all the sacrifices they do for their families and everybody in general. It takes a special person to leave behind as much as they do just to protect our freedom and way of life.

  12. Our soldiers have our backs, they need to know that they are appreciated for all the hard work and sacrifices they make. A simply “Thank You” brightens their eyes and makes their day. So, THANK YOU!!

  13. To let them know they are appreciated and not taken for granted! They make so many sacrifices for us the least we can do is say thank you!

  14. It is important to thank our troops because of all the sacrifices they make on a daily basis. It’s not only when the guys/gals leave their families behind for months or years but also when they are home. They still have missions to finish which include; field trainings, late nights, early days, no lunch breaks, minutes seeing their family and friends vs hours. They protect and give/do so much for us every day that they serve and ask nothing in return. THANK YOU!

  15. It is important to thank our troops because they sacrifice so much for everyone. Why would you not thank a person that put their life on the line to protect you? Soldiers need to feel remembered and important. It is Americans job to make them feel this way.

  16. We should thank veterans and our current military members because it is the very minimal we can do. They deserve our respect for having the courage to do something that so many others wouldn’t ever have the courage to consider.

  17. It is important to thank our troops because we need to show them our support, our love, our gratitude and appreciation for all that they do and sacrifice. You are heroes.

  18. Because quite simply, they don’t get thanked enough. I’m beyond proud to be married to the soldier I am and I thank him often. They deserve it.

  19. As a veteran and a military spouse, I know and understand just how important both ends are. The service member defends our nation and behind that service member is a strong loving family giving all the love and support to help keep their soldier focus on the mission at hand. My experience bad and good as a wife and a vetran I don’t think I would change it. Supporting our troops let them know that their risks doesn’t go unknown. It let’s them know that they have their cheering squad backing their every move. I salute all branches of the military for they make our nation what it is today!

  20. They fight for our freedom, and they leave their love ones behind…our troops should be thank and respect 24/7 the 365 days of the yr…everyday and everynight they are protecting us…..am so proud of my husband and all the soldiers..

  21. I think that it is important to thank our troops, on a daily basis, for the sacrifices that they have made to maintain out freedom. I also think that is important to thank our military families, they also sacrifice quite a bit so that their spouses may fight for the freedom of America.

These brave men and women live their lives fighting for your freedom so that you may live your’s! Thank every service member you come into contact with for their selflessness.

“Land of the free, because of the brave!”

Fly your flag high! That is thanks in itself!

  22. Why? Why not. We bask every day in the joys of freedom thanks to our military’s blood, sweat and tears…and they ask nothing in return. They give their lives, and to hear a thank you, just one little thank you, can insure them that what they do is not in vain, is not for an ungrateful people…so they can know that no matter where their duty takes them, they are not forgotten. That’s why.

  23. It is important to support our troops because they sacrifice so much for everyone else selflessly.

  24. I think it is important to support the troops because they risk their lives everyday and are the most unselfish people you will find. They need to know that we all back them for all the hard work they do.

  25. It us important to thank our troops so they know that not only their family supports them, but “random strangers” do as well. They sacrifice a lot of things to have a job in the military, and to fight for whatever it is we personally call freedom. The least civilians can do is say thank you.

  26. It is important to thank our troops, because they are the backbone of this country. Without their willingness to defend and protect, this country would not be what it is today.

  27. My husband is in the Army and does an awesome job for his country and for his family. I sometimes forget to thank him. Thank you for the reminder and I will make sure to thank other soldiers as well.

  28. We need to thank our troops and their families for all of their sacrifices and their dedication to make this country what it is today!

  29. I am the wife of an Army veteran and a VFW Auxiliary member. The price that these wonderful men and women give to keep our country free is not to be believed. Some of the stories would break your heart. Take a minute to thank the next military person you see.
