I love traveling and have been afforded to go on 3 cruises in my lifetime courtesy of my parents…ahem thanks Mom & Dad!

Two of those cruises I have been on were Carnival ships and I would rate these as some of the best vacations in my lifetime.  You can imagine why I was excited to be contacted by Carnival to share their wonderful military promotion (plus a fun giveaway) they are having this month in celebration of Veteran’s Day. So for all those whose service members are due home soon or you retirees who are in need of a well deserved spontaneous vacation listen up, this one is for you:

NEW PROMOTION FROM CARNIVAL ALLOWS MILITARY PERSONNEL TO BOOK UP TO THREE ‘FUN SHIP’ STATEROOMS AT DISCOUNTED RATES

Prices Begin at $219 Per Person

In honor of Veteran’s Day, Carnival Cruise Lines is offering a promotion throughout November that allows active and retired military personnel to book up to three “Fun Ship” staterooms at discounted rates for themselves and their friends and family members.

Reservations must be made between November 1-30, 2010, to qualify for this special offer, which is available in conjunction with a variety of three- to eight-day “Fun Ship” departures through April 30, 2012, including voyages to The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico and Europe.

Rates start at $219 per person for three- and four-day cruises; $279 per person for five-day voyages; $399 per person for six-day departures; $449 per person for seven-day voyages; and $649 per person for eight-day sailings.  Also included are seven-day Europe voyages starting at $789 per person.

Voyages to the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico operate from 12 convenient North American homeports along the east and west coasts and Gulf of Mexico. Europe cruises depart from Barcelona, Spain.

“Carnival has a long history of supporting our U.S. military personnel through special pricing and promotions and we are pleased to offer this program throughout November to demonstrate our appreciation to these most deserving individuals,” said Joni Rein, Carnival’s vice president of worldwide sales.

The promotion is valid for individual bookings only. Military personnel must provide proof of service. Eligible military personnel must sail to take advantage of this offer.  Certain other restrictions apply.

Carnival is the world’s most popular cruise line, with 22 “Fun Ships” operating three- to 16-day voyages to The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Canada, New England, Bermuda, and Europe.  The line currently has two new ships scheduled for delivery between now and 2012.

  1. I have never cruised before but my dream cruises is me, the hubby and the kids on a cruise where the kids have there own free time and me and him can enjoy some alone time. I would love to have a very large room with 2 bedrooms and a living room……Must have extra room….lol

  2. I also have not gone on a cruise yet but I hope too. We are currently in Wyoming so getting to a port is a little difficult. My dream cruise would be a Disney Cruise. I really love Disney and I want to do their Land and Sea Package sometime before we have children. Lol. Ironic I know but first we need to get out of debt which is what we are working on now.

  3. I have never been on a cruise. My husband is deploying in May and I’d love to drop the kiddos off at grandma’s and just spend a few (uninterupted) days and nights with him. We haven’t gone on any vacations since we’ve had kids, but we keep talking about it.
I’d go anywhere – I think an Alaskan cruise would be great, but I’d love to go somewhere warm since we live in MN.

  4. I have never been on a cruise, but would love to go on any of the Carnival Carribean cruises. The dream would be to hit up all of them. The Mexican Riviera looks like fun!

  5. I haven’t had the opportunity to go on a cruise yet, but I think any tropical location would be a dream cruise for me! My husaband has always wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise, which I think would be beautiful.

  6. I’ve not been fortunate enough to go on a cruise yet but always wanted to! I’d love to do a Caribbean cruise. This is one of my dream locations anyway but not a chance to go there so far. And I think, as long as the kids are still little, it will still have to wait…
One of these gift bags could maybe at least give me a cruise feeling ;)

  7. I have cruised with my parents once as well. It was while my soldier and I were still dating and a few months before he left for basic. We also cruised on Carnival to the Bahamas from Florida. It was a 3-day cruise and it was so much fun! It was during winter and the weather in Florida was horrible, it was actually a few days after Christmas, and it had rained all day and night so we thought the cruise would be foiled but we were wrong. It was a fun time on the ship even though I was 20 years old, too young for the adult stuff and too old for the kids stuff, I loved it and would love to go on a cruise with my husband and kids one day.

  8. I haven’t been on a cruise, but am dying to go! I think my dream cruise would have to be to the Bahamas or to anywhere in the Caribbean with my husband (who is deployed) and our two daughters! I’ve never been out of the country and would love to go to paradise!

  9. I have not had a chance to go on a cruise either. My husband and I have always wanted to go since we never got a chance to go on a honeymoon. We would love to go a Disney Cruise since we have 3 kids that way they would have fun and we could still have our down time as well!

  10. I have never been on a cruise before. I would love to set sail on the Mediterranean, visiting all kinds of ports of call – Italy, Turkey, Greece. Wow! Most of all, I would love to do this with my husband when he returns home. It will be 2 years’ worth of deployments and we both need a break from life for a little while in order to rediscover each other. So many things have happened in our lives – him playing soldier away at war – and me caring for everything and everybody he left behind. A cruise would be perfect because there are so many things available to do that we wouldn’t otherwise have to the opportunity to do at home. <3

  11. I have cruised before! My favorite part was being able to spend some alone time with my hubby after being married for 2 years and having a baby, and going through a deployment and overseas tour! I would LOVE to go on another!!

    Thank you!!

  12. My husband and I did the 7 day cruise to the Bahamas, St Maarten and St Thomas through Carnival and I must say it was the BEST vacation we have ever had!! Id have to say I was so impressed by the employee who cleaned and maintained our room. He remembered every ones name and was so incredibly friendly. He even noticed that we weren’t drinking the diet coke out of our mini fridge so he took out all the diet and replaced it with regular coke. I dont think there was one thing we could complain about!!

  13. I have never been on a cruise either, I have always wanted to go, just never had the money to do so.
My dream cruise would be a honeymoon cruise ( I have been married for 8 years, still haven’t had a honeymoon) to Europe. Just me my husband and the kids, (hopeful with a daycare.) :)

  14. My husband and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon. We loved how laid back everything was and how there was ALWAYS something to do, no matter what time of day. There was also always someplace to drink/eat! Also, they had a special get together for those honeymooning and celebrating anniversaries.
My family (immediate and extended) is going on a cruise next summer to celebrate my parents anniversary and they are renewing their vows on the ship. Can’t wait!
And hubby and I are hoping to plan a special cruise for us next year as well.

  15. Hello,

I just came across you page and wanted to say “THANKS CARNIVAL” for doing this for military personnel. I know they offer a small military discount on a normal basis, but this gives instentive to also invite along family members.

On to answering your question… I have been on 3 Carnival Cruises, the most recent just being in Oct of this year. It was my husband and I’s first get away vacation without our daughter since his return from Iraq.

My favorite part(s): Meeting new people, visit different islands, the food and just enjoying the time away with not having to clean/cook! lol

    Thanks for the contest!

  16. My husband and I went on a Carnival cruise from Galveston, TX to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel, during his R&R February of this year. We barely made the boat on time due to flying issues in Kuwait getting home :-(. Fortunately God provided us time (the fog delayed the ship for hours) and we were are to board and relax. Everything about the cruise was wonderful! We enjoyed the food and especially the entertainment. The staff was wonderful! My favorite part was the handshakes and heartfelt thank you’s given to my husband by both the staff and the other travelers. I had to pick my husband up from the Houston airport and drive straight to the ship, which allow him no time to change out of his uniform. Even though he wanted to change, he smiled and said he could feel the pride from the employees that a soldier was aboard their ship. Sometimes the greatest joys from life and vacations are the simplest acts of kindness or generosity by complete strangers.

  17. I have crusied before i got married for graduation and my favorite part was getting off the ship where you were porting at and seeing how they lived and trying their food.

  18. We have never been on a cruise and of all the amazing places in the world to go, our first would be Alaska!! We heard it is amazing!! We had been planning to go for our honeymoon (never did have one), before each move, before each deployment and before we had any kids……. and well after 13 years, several moves and deployments and our blessing from God (our beautiful baby girl), we are still trying to make it happen! Hopefully one day soon!

  19. I have never cruised before. My dream cruise would be any cruise at all–I am not picky–I just want to go on a cruise and enjoy the travel and adventure that comes along with cruises!!! :)

  20. I took a cruise from where I was stationed in southeastern Italy to Corfu, Greece for my birthday once, but it wasn’t anything fancy and more of a very long ferry ride :) My dream cruise would be to cross the ocean to Asia with all the bells and whistles. *Thanks* for the giveaway!

  21. I have never been on a cruise, but can’t wait for the day I get to plan one! My husband and I have not yet been able to have a honeymoon due to his schedule, but once he has the time, we would love to plan a cruise to Mexico and Western Caribbean. There are so many beautiful ports along that route that we would love to explore!

  22. I’ve been on 10 cruises before and have another 4 booked (the next one is on the Carnival Spirit in February)! After 1 cruise we were totally addicted. When else can you go to sleep at night and wake up in a different country? It is a good way to get a “feel” for a place so you can decide whether you would like to go there for a longer vacation. We love to go on cruises with my parents. We don’t get to see them very often (we are stationed in Hawaii and they live in Scotland) so it is really nice when we meet up that we all get a vacation and someone else is doing all the cooking and cleaning.

We dream one day of doing one of the 109 night round the world cruises, although how could you possibly go back to real life after that? I can imagine going up to my bedroom once I got home and wondering why no one had arranged my towels into cute animals :)

  23. My husband and I have been lucky enough to have been on several cruises over the years. What we really like about cruising is: there are LOTs of activities choices but there is no pressure if all you want to do is lay back and just catch up to yourself.

  24. My husband and I took out first cruise in Nov. of 08’, right before his second deployment. We went on a 7 day Eastern Caribbean Cruise, we had a blast of course I had to make sure I had the patches behind my ears so I would not get sea sick which I did not thank goodness. The best part first was spending time with my husband he is my best friend he had me doing things I never in a million years thought I would do like snorkeling, horseback riding on the beaches, rock climbing on the ship, playing basketball on the ship, staying up late every night for the midnight buffet. We also walked the boardwalks of all the towns and window shopped “because everything was way too expensive.” We enjoyed reading a book on the deck of the ship and getting some sun and just relaxing. We went dancing at night at the clubs; we even went ice skating on the ship (which I thought was just so cool). We got to dress-up and go to the fine dining restaurant, but some nights we would skip out and go to the buffet dinner all dressed-up instead “ I mean you can only take so much “fancy food” right”…we wanted our greasy hamburgers and fries. We always said we wanted to do another cruise sometime….

  25. I have never been on a cruise before but my dream cruise would be to go to the Bahama’s with my wonderful husband and my mom (Who I know won’t be with us much longer) My husband and I have been threw 2 different deployments in the past year and a half. He is 6 months on 6 months off so we would hardly have enough time to plan for a cruise and go on it. Thank You Krystal and everyone who helps you make this possible for us spouses and our great men we stand behind!

  26. I have never been on a cruise before. My husband and I have been married 12 years and gone through 4 deployments. We would love to have time to justget away and enjoy eachother. He just got back from Iraq it would be a great vacatiion. I would love to go anywhere. I think it would be so much fun………

  27. I’ve cruised before and my favorite was our trip to Alaska. It was a great family vacation. I loved getting off the boat and exploring the local towns. I also got to sit on a glacier!!!

  28. hmmm a cruise!!! ohh that would just be a dream come true! some of my friends have been on carnival cruises and they only had good things to say!! so maybe, just maybe one day it will me my turn :)

  29. I have never cruised before but I would love to go to on a cruise to Alaska. We were stationed there and I havent been able to get it out of my mind since! The whale watching, the beautiful skies, and the wonderful people!!!

  30. We have never been on a cruise before and we are going on our very first one very soon. We had already booked a Carnival cruise for January 2011 so it is unfortunate that we have missed out on the special discount for booking reservationns during this month. We are so excited anyway! Exotic Western Carribean! Should be a dream cruise like nothing we have ever experienced!

  31. Large bodies of water scare me, so I’ve never been on a cruise. My dream cruise would be a cruise along a shoreline, where I can see land, and with lots of stops ashore!
