As military families we move from place to place and in most cases far away from our families. When we lived in Hawaii my mom and brother came to visit us but alot of family didn’t get the chance or time too.
Being here at Fort Bragg puts me extremely close to Myrtle Beach and my family loves making quick trips there during the Summer months as a getaway from everyday life.
That’s why I wanted to share this awesome contest from the Myrtle Beach Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) that will give one lucky military family an amazing prize package that includes an all expense paid vacation along the Grand Strands of Myrtle Beach in “The Myrtle Beach 1 Million – Military Contest”.

The prize pack includes:
A 7 day/6 night stay complete with oceanfront vacation home accommodations, a $500 Kroger gift card, and, as a nod to the CVB’s recent 1 million Facebook fans milestone, 1 million US Airways Dividend Miles® to help cover transportation for the grand prize winner and their family.
Myrtle Beach was once home of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. Because of this they (MB CVB) knows how important it is to reconnect with loved ones after a tour of duty and thought this was the perfect way to recognize the sacrifices of our troops.
To nominate a deserving family, submit a story and video to http://www.VisitMyrtleBeach.com/MYR1Million by Oct. 7, 2013. Five finalists will be announced on October 21st and Facebook fans will be asked to vote for the most deserving family. The grand-prize winner will be announced on Veteran’s Day – Nov. 11, 2013.

Hey girl! My husband is in the “inactive reserves” with the Marine Corps. You probably know this since your husband is a former Marine as well as Army but he served his first contract active duty then the Marine Corps does 4 years after active duty that is 4 years inactive. If you don’t see this or if I can find the info on the website don’t reply, I’ll just check into it more when I get home from work. :-) Thanks for sharing!
