Every start of summer I sit down with my calendar and look at the months of June and July with one main goal in mind- to plan a fun and exciting adventure for my family that doesn’t break the bank! For a family of six, that can sometimes be quite the challenge! So, when Legoland Discovery Center  in Atlanta, Georgia popped up in my search for “military discounts”– I knew that I had to make it a priority stop for us.

Located in Atlanta, GA in the beautiful Phipps Plaza, Legoland Discovery Center Atlanta is about 1 hr 45 mins from where we reside in Fort Benning, GA. That meant not only was it cheaper with our military discount- it was also an easy day trip for us! There wasn’t the need to worry about hotel costs to add to our expenses. Since there are several military bases located throughout the state of Georgia- making this fun place a stop on your family adventures is a must!

There are two rides inside the center along with several fun interactive displays featuring space, science and building, a huge pirate ship playground and even a Lego race track. After a few hours of fun and play, not to mention several trips to the Cafe for snacks and drinks, we spent some time shopping for new Legos. In what seemed like a blink of an eye several hours had passed and the kids were thoroughly exhausted and very happy with their Discovery Center time.

To top it off- our trip coincided with my sons 5th birthday. So not only did we have a blast as a family, the trip provided the perfect special birthday present any little boy would enjoy– Legos,Legos, and more Legos!

Normal ticket prices for entry are $19.95- but with your military ID the discount price is brought down to $14.95- that’s a pretty good deal for a quick day trip adventure! Family fun during the summer doesn’t have to be expensive or time consuming. Consider making Atlanta, GA and the Legoland Discovery Center a must see place in your summer adventure plans.
