Living On-Post in the Summer Series: Pools As a Fort Bragg resident, you and your family are provided easy access to some of the best pools in town! Take advantage of this and explore your community pool as well as the three outdoor pools run by Fort Bragg during the summer.

Like with most outdoor aquatic facilities, the Fort Bragg outdoor pools typically open around Memorial Day and close around Labor Day. Read your Corvias newsletter and check the community calendar for any updates on the opening schedule and hours for community pools. Hours do vary by day and will change once school is out.

The MWR website gives more information on the pools run by Fort Bragg.

Community pools Each on-post community center hosts a pool open to residents of the Corvias communities. All pools have a similar layout and depth. They also feature a water mushroom and a easy-entry section for toddlers. Each family receives a pool pass and can have up to 4 guests. If you own a Corvias pool pass, you can use it at any community center pool.

Admission: For Atchley, Normandy, and Twin Lions pools, DODId holders can purchase entry for $3. Each DODId card holder is allowed two guests. Each guest can purchase entry for $5. Punch cards may be available for purchase to save you time and money!

Atchley (off Bastogne Road) Atchley outdoor pool features six 25-yard and six 25-meter lanes for lap swimming and unit training. Located near Tucker Gym, this pool is for lap swim only. If you have children who want to play, a better bet would be to bring them to the Normandy or Twin Lions pools.

Normandy (off Normandy Drive) Normandy outdoor pool features a diving board* and three different slides. Normandy pool is open for recreational swim. Serious lap swimmers would be better suited for the Atchley pool. *To use the slides or diving board at any pool, children must first pass a swim test given by lifeguards following parental signature of a waiver.

Twin Lions (off Ardennes Road) Twin Lions outdoor pool features a recreational pool (during recreational swim hours), six 25-meter lanes for lap swim (during lap swim hours), one 3-meter diving board, one 1-meter diving board and a splash pad.

The Twin Lions pool also offers a masters swim program from 11am – 12 pm.

Another unique experience hosted by the Twin Lions pool is their Dive-In Theater Night. Families can swim and play while enjoying a family favorite, usually a newly-released movie, for free!

As always, respect your lifeguards and the pool rules posted at each facility. Floats and large pool toys (inflatables and noodles) are typically not allowed at these Fort Bragg pools. Make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated while you have fun in the sun!
