When you look at last year, how did it go? Did you manage to accomplish goals you set for yourself, or did you find that most of your time and energy were dedicated to supporting your favorite service member? Did you say, “Oh well,” and decide that you’d start on your own journey on Monday, next month, or even next year?

If so, you’re not alone. Milspouses have goals, drive, and determination, but keep finding their dreams put on the back burner, on account of this crazy ride we call military life.

We want to see you succeed in 2019, and achieving your educational goals is one way to get started on that path.

The Benefits of An Online Education

As a milspouse, you’re someone who needs flexibility in life. Moving from one side of the country to the other (or to another country entirely) or having to fly solo and hold down the fort for weeks or months on end, one thing is certain — a traditional classroom setting isn’t your most logical option.

I’ve achieved a degree through online classes and loved that I could always carve out time in my busy day to complete my assignments, do the required reading, and meet my deadlines. Traditional education pigeonholes you to a set time each day and I’ll be honest — with online classes no two days looked alike. And I loved that. Some days I’d do my work at 5:00am, and others I’d get one step closer to my degree while burning the midnight oil.

Either way, the choice of how and when was mine — I was in control.

At the end of the day, I had that piece of paper in hand, and that qualification on my resume, to confidently apply for work and interview for jobs. The destination is important, but if the journey doesn’t fit your lifestyle, how will you ever arrive? I can’t recommend online classes enough for milspouses whose lives require an immense amount of flexibility.
