If you follow me on the AW101 FB fan page then you saw a week or so ago I called myself going retro and posed in a lace wrap dress from Kiyonna that somewhat reminded me of the 50’s. I imagined myself holding a tea for all the military spouses. Okay not really but you get where I am going, it’s got that “would you like alittle tea with a cucumber sandwich” appeal to me!

This week I am (at least in my own mind) going back to the 50’s when women wore one piece pencil tubular type dresses or either a full skirt.

I was sent this amazing “Betsy Ruched Polka Dot Dress” from the Kiyonna line via Gwynnie Bee. I am a huge fan of Kiyonna’s clothing on me because they believe in the power of a good ruching. Ruching is amazing for wearing those dresses that fit well everywhere else except your belly area.

The dress is black with white polka dots and really does fit well everywhere. You do have to play with the ruching to get it right but once you do it’s all good from there. The material is polyester and can be a bit hot for daytime wear but perfect for a day night in the Summer.

I am not sure I would recommend this dress for us smaller busted women because I had a hard time filling the cleavage area up. As plus size as I am , I lack in that area!

I must say I love the way the dressed hugged my lower curves and backside area.

I paired this dress with a basic set of pearls around my neck and nude pumps. I think red heels would make this dress really standout.

I normally am a size 3x but after reading the reviews I went up a size because this is a tighter dress so I thought I might need a bit of wiggle room. All in all , I love this dress! It is feminine and really makes you feel classic.
