Many have asked what resources are available should the government proceed with this shutdown and service members are not paid .
I have compiled a list below, some may apply to all branches some may not but either way I hope you find them useful. It is not many but it is a start , feel free to add more resources in the comments section below or on the Army Wife 101 Fan Page.
Navy Federal will assist customers by advancing direct deposit pay for Active Duty Servicemembers…Hmmm I wonder if USAA will do the same !

Utilize your local Red Cross by calling 866-563-1376
If your spouse is deployed , don’t forget to check on your available SSCRA
Many military installations have Food Banks so always check into those.

well that cant happen that people in the military cant not be paid because the pentagon is not what keeps the military working it is the D.O.D Department of Defense (DoD) is located in Alexandria, Va. If the (DOD) had to use tax payers money only the (DOD) would be the only agency alive in america. They keep a Private Finance by doing what all americans should do they Invest in the global Economy yes that means their better than a goverment shut down. so dont worry it will be okay you will get paid on time

if that were true than our LES’s would not be showing half pay right now. ALL government funded activities will be affected in some way by this possible shutdown. The military is government funded. Even our commissaries (base grocery stores) will be closed if the budget does not pass. So saying that we will get paid on time if the budget is not passed is erroneous.

You are right as of now cuz were still getting “HALF” of our paycheck on the 15th!!!But, If the government will continue to shut down, we sure not going to get paid from next month!!! Girl, You dont need to give us lecture of Pentagon, DOD and where is it at. “WE ALREADY KNOW IT”. You just making yourself sound stupid. Please, do a research on federal fundings so you have a clue where DOD budgets come from!!!
This is not a Female this is a male that care’s and is Correct.the DOD only has one budget not budgets and if things go right you cant get “HALF” of our paycheck on the 15th!!! you will get 80% of your paycheck on pay day for the next six month’s okay.
