coffeemilitary

Head on over to my Instagram profile and most likely you will see a coffee picture posted every week. I love coffee! I can’t stop drinking it. It makes me happy and obviously it makes a lot of military personnel and their spouses happy because most of my military peeps are fans. Most military bases have at least two coffee shops for us to get our daily dose.

I personally am a fan of any kind of “mocha choca latte brulee concoction” and have many favorite flavors of coffee from different brands. And while coffee on my lips isn’t always good for my hips, it helps if the place I am drinking coffee from supports a good cause. I am even more excited when I learn that a coffee brand supports the troops.

Coffee’s Longstanding History and Relationship With The Military

Want to feel less guilty for indulging in that cup of goodness every morning (and every afternoon)? Check out these six coffee companies that support military families in some way.

Starbucks

It shouldn’t be a shock that this is number one on the list. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t love Starbucks and their latest news in which they announced that they will now extend a 100% tuition-free four-year college benefit to the spouse or child of every U.S. veteran or active military reservist employed 20 or more hours a week, will make shelling out $5 for that cup of coffee worth it. They have a ton of other military spouse and vet initiatives. Learn about them here.

Community Coffee

Community Coffee recently sent me their limited holiday flavors and I am proud to say I guzzle them down every morning if I am not out sucking down Starbucks on the go. I love their “Military Match” program in which when you buy 4 – of your favorite Military Match Set of four 12 oz., 16 oz., or Single-Serve 18 ct. coffees and Community Coffee will match your purchase with an additional four items, and send all eight items to the APO/FPO or military base address you provide. They will even give a free mug with your shipment! You can purchase CC at your local grocery store.

Green Beans Coffee

You’ve probably heard you spouse talk about Green Beans Coffee down range where they seem to be popular at. That’s for good reason, because many people participate in their “Cup Of Joe” program. “Each $2 Cup of Joe (COJ) gift delivers your letter and a fresh cup of coffee to one Service Member.”  You can even purchase higher dollar amounts and send more letters and coffee to soldiers serving.

Gourmet Coffee & Tea

Need to order coffee online? You may want to hop on over to Gourmet Coffee & Tea. Not only do they offer FREE APO/FPO shipping, but they have a host of awesome ways in which they support the troops. With everything from sending free coffee to adopting soldiers, I’d certainly be happy to drink their coffee or tea any day.

New England Coffee

Has a longstanding history with the military and is a proud supporter of the USO. They also offer $5 flat shipping on any and all military orders.

Lock & Load Java

Simply put, their coffee is awesome and they are Vet and Milspouse owned and is for the military. They proudly donated to several military charities. All the guys in my husbands previous unit LOVED when he would bring it in. They also offer a purchase program if you want to buy coffee for troops. Purchase and learn more here.
