Tuesday night Krystel from Army Wife 101 and the military spouse marketing team over at SoFluential paired up with Magnolia Pictures to bring an advanced screening of “A War” to the Cameo Art House Theater in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fayetteville is home to Fort Bragg and the famous 82nd Airborne.
Over 70+ military spouses and service members attended the screening in the historic boutique theater to watch the foreign film directed by famous Danish director Tobias Lindholm.
About “A War”
During a routine mission in an Afghan province, Company Commander Claus M. Pedersen (Pilou Asbæk) and his soldiers are caught in heavy crossfire. In order to save his men, Claus makes a decision that has grave consequences for him – and his family back home in Denmark.
The film was great in that the director wanted to ensure that we as military spouses weren’t depicted as victims but as strong people too. The word for the night was that the film was accurate. Attendees thought the film was amazingly done and while some scenes were graphic, the film made you leave with a different appreciation our military personnel who have served over there.
Veteran milspouse and blogger Tiffany from The Mrs Tee said:
“I didn’t expect was the true sense of connection I walked away with. From getting to know the struggle of Claus Pedersen between protecting his family of soldiers while still balancing his role as protector of his family at home to his wife Maria’s constant pursuit of finding a balance of telling him how she and their kids are doing to protecting him from the worry of her own struggles.”
After the film guests headed on over to the milspouse owned Pressed Creative Space in downtown Fayetteville for cupcakes and wine and pictures. And it wouldn’t be a great night without some cool swag bags filled with candles, facial masks, bath bombs and more.
The Sofluential team looks forward to bringing more of these types of screenings to military towns in the future.
