A few years ago, there was a movie in which at the end, the friends celebrated a loved one by releasing these beautiful paper lanterns over the sea. I always thought doing something like that would be awesome, but figured it was a only a TV thing. Fast forward to a few weeks ago I was surfing around Facebook and to my surprise came upon a event that’s happening in select states called “The Lantern Fest”.

lanternfestWhat Is The Lantern Fest?

“At The Lantern Fest, thousands of revelers join together armed with lanterns for one unforgettable spectacle. There will be music, dancing, s’mores and, when the time is just right, we will light the sky with our highest hopes, deepest regrets, and fondest dreams”.

I think this is a great and meaningful event for entire families to attend.

  5. 14 years ago on Nov 20 as a young soldier and military spouse my husband and I lost our oldest daughter, Makayla Sian Sanders due to complications of Imcompetent Cervix. She lived an amazing 8 days and changed our lives forever. At the time we were unable and unwilling to have a funeral but we did cremate her. & After a long uphill battle and a total of 8 pregnancies GOD blessed us to have three healthy beautiful children but Every year we try to celebrate her life as a family together remembering how her life changed our life for the better. I think this would be a great way to celebrate life, and how her light shines on us as a family. I think it would be amazing for my children to see happy memories attached to Makayla’s birth instead of mommy crying and being sad every year.

  6. I would love tickets to see the lantern so released in honor of my children so father who passed on June 8th 2015

  7. I’ve got 2 girls, 5 and 7 and a husband who isn’t always home. This would be a really fun family event that they’d remember forever! <3
