If you don’t know I get to review products monthly as a Sears Outlet Mom.

This month’s products included a juice extractor and a food processor.

Black & Decker Quick ‘N Easy Plus® Food Processor

Product Features:

  • Storage lid for keeping just processed foods fresh
  • Removable parts are top rack dishwasher-safe
  • Black & Decker FP1445 Quick N Easy Plus Food Processor FP-1445
  • Continuous flow chute to slice or shred food directly into a serving bowl
  • 8-Cup (1920 ml) container for small or large processing tasks

The Food Processor couldn’t have come at a better time simply because the most food related holiday of the year was upon us…Thanksgiving. A good portion of my dishes included chopped veggies and this got the job done well. Unlike normally when I have to chop onions continuously and endure horribly burning eyes, this prevented that.  My potato salad is one of my dishes that requires me to finally dice and chop not only onions but green peppers. The food processor allowed me to change several settings to do just this.

The last item that I could have kissed the food processor for was my Pecan Pie. I know you are wondering Food processor…Pecan Pie???

You see normally I take my pecans throw them in a ziplock bag and beat the heck out of them. With this food processor I simply removed the top portion blade, poured 3 bags of pecans in there and added the chop blade which , chopped the pecans just enough to make mouthwatering very pecan filled pecan pie. I was also able to chop ingredients and have it shoot out directly into a bowl by changing one of the settings as well.

My biggest fear was that the processor would be hard to put together because it had quite a few pieces but the title serves it correctly, it was quick and easy. The parts for the food processor were dishwasher safe and I can chop items and then store them because the container is able to be used for storage.

Cons: I will say that although the processor is dishwasher safe , when I shredded cheese in here the oil and the cheese rubbing against the plastic caused me to have to actually scrub some of the pieces by hand, which I really did not want to have to do. The product is pretty bulky and would more come in handy for bigger jobs such as Thanksgiving or a party when you don’t need to spend time dicing veggies or shredding cheese.

This product runs for less then $40 and is available at Sears Outlet.

Better Chef Fruit Vegetable Juice Extractor

Product Features:

    • Stainless steel cutter
    • Separate pulp collector
    • Easily removable parts
    • Pulp container, stainless steel cutting wheel, top and press are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning
    • Locking latch ensures the cover is on before the motor turns on for added safety
    • Measures 18.5 inches high X 17.7 inches long X 12.5 inches wide
    • Powerful heavy duty 400 watt motor

The Better Chef Vegetable & Fruit Juice Extractor was something I had been wanting considering I am not the biggest veggie eater. I thought this would be a great way to absorb all the nutrients of fruits and veggies. First thing is first while this product does work, you definitely need to purchase small veggies or cut them in small pieces in order for them to fit through the chute. For my first homemade juice concoction , I did a simple apple and carrot juice. Let’s just say I am not sure how often I will be drinking that anymore .

The juicer separates the pulp and the juice from each other. It is a smaller machine so I wouldn’t count on more then one serving forming at a time. The juicer can be quite tedious to clean as well and you will need some type of long brush to get to hard to reach areas.  The great thing about this product is that it can handle carrots which is a harder vegetable. This means that other sturdier vegetables should not be an issues.

This product also runs for under $40 at Sears Outlets and would make a great gift for a first time juicer.

Since the holidays are full swing ahead I thought you would want to know that Searsoutlet.com is now offering nationwide shipping online. This means that anyone can shop with them even if a Sears Outlet is not in your area. There are some great “Holideals” happening now, so be sure to take a look.
