I love me a good smelling candle and no candle lover in their right mind will turn down a Yankee Candle . If and when I can get them at a bargain I certainly will buy them because they last a long time and there is no doubt, you definitely get what you pay for. The smell lights up the whole house without being over powering.

I recently had a chance to try out two new Yankee Candle fragrances called “Oceanside” and “Pink Dragon Fruit”.

I maybe weird in that I like different parts of my house to have a certain type of smell . For instance my bedroom has to have that grown and sexy scent while my living room has more of a fruit welcoming type scent. My kitchen usually has some kind of candle that mimics a baked good scent.

When I received the two candles in the mail I did my test sniff and automatically knew that the Pink Dragon Fruit would be my living room scent and Oceanside was definitely a bedroom scent.

Pink Dragon Fruit:

This scent smells awesome . It provides about 100 or more hours of burning time and has a wonderful tropical fruit smell. I was alittle hesitant to try it because I have a thing about tropical fruit smells. I have ran into candles that try hard to give off that tropical fruit smell but it winds up smelling like that cheap fruit candle you find at the local dollar store. Luckily Pink Dragon Fruit reminds me of a good piece of tropical fruit candy with a twist of girliness. It smells so good and not cheap at all.

Oceanside:

This scent definitely has the ocean breeze vibe going on . Yankee Candle mentions a citrus smell which is definitely in there but not over powering. I love that this reminds me more of a Cotton scented candle with the ocean mixed in yet has a definite romantic smell to it. It lights up my bedroom and ever after I have blown the candle out for the night , the smell still lingers.

Each candle is listed as burning 110-150 hours and from prior use that is definitely true. I sometimes leave these candles burning all day and they still have lasted for months afterwards.

You can visit Yankee Candle to learn more about these candles and also click here to read my review on the Yankee Candle Patriotic/Americana line.

  1. I love Yankee candle!! They have such a wide variety every time you go in. I always leave with a headache after smelling about 30 different candles lol

  2. @ Melissa, their car scents are really great. I used the gel ones that hang from the rearview mirror for a very long time until I moved down south and noticed that they would start to melt all down my car console in the summer heat. I then switched to the little cardboard cutouts of the Yankee Candle jars and those seem to be working just as well, just without the mess.

  3. I LOVE Yankee Candles. You are right the scent does last forever! I would like to try one from the Americana Line. :)

  4. I have SOOOO many thing in my house from Yankee Candle! Right now I would buy the Dragon Fruit for my and my teenage daughters bathroom!

  5. I would love to try any of the Yankee Candles……they all sound like they smell good esp. Beach Flowers!

  8. I have the Oceanside one in the living room! I love the way that one smells!! I am curious about the Dragon Fruit now too!

  9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yankee Candle. I rave about them to all my family and friends. I absolutely love Pink Sands. I also love different smells in every room of the house. I have the midsummers night ( smells like a mans cologne) in my bedroom currently the first time my husband smelled it he swore I had a man in the house till I showed him the candle LOL. I have God Bless America in my kitchen it smells just like a freshly baked apple pie. I have Home Sweet Home in my living room ( it smells like coming home for the holidays) all those memories coming back at once. and I currently have Cocnut Bay in my bathroom. Ones that I have used in the past and also love are pink sands, bahama breeze, and Rose. It’s about time for another order to be placed. I also use the stuff for the car and travel. I have a cocnut bay travel tin in my suitcase ready to go. and I have Tahitian Tiere flower ultimate car jar hanging from my mirror as well as the vent sticks. For those of you who love fresh fruits I do reccomend the juicy watermelon and the sweet strawberries. They don’t have that false candy smell it really smells like the actual fruit.

  10. I have a serious Yankee Candle addiction!!! There was a Yankee Candle Outlet Store about 5 miles from my house in Virginia. The prices were lower there than they were in a regular YC store or Online. Things were so crazy when we were PCSing from VA to TX that I didn’t get to go there to stock up before I left.
Personally, I DON’T think you are crazy to have different scents in different rooms. I have always done that too. If “Mid Summer’s Night” is burning in my house, you will ALWAYS find it in my bedroom. “Midnight Jasmine” in my den or livingroom. My bathrooms always had some kind of Lavender burning b/c Lavender is awesome for getting rid of smells!
I’d love to win these candles, but I have the WORLD’S WORST LUCK!

  11. I looooooove the Meyer Lemon candle…. Makes any room in my house smell clean. But I have different smells in every room. OMG I discovered one recently, Driftwood, I think; its my perfect bedroom scent. My living room smells like Pink Sands. Orange Creamsicle in the spare room. Buttercream or any combination that includes buttercream or vanilla cupcakes must be in my kitchen. I love Yankee Candle… I’m a wee-bit addicted LOL
