Moni Jefferson is a milspouse entrepreneur who believes that you can create a career of your dreams while supporting your spouse’s military career. The Air Force spouse was also raised as a military kid, so for as long as she can remember, the military has played a role in shaping Moni’s life.

She spent years as a stay-at-home-mom to her three children while supporting her husband’s career as an Airman. When her youngest started Pre-K, Moni wanted to enter a new season of her life. She felt fueled to start a new professional chapter, but wasn’t certain which path to take. She describes that frequent moves left her resume “chopped up and messy.” Moni applied for many jobs and had some interviews, but nothing would stick. An employer once told her that they couldn’t invest in her since she would soon move again.

Moni is the owner of a virtual PR and social media agency, and the creator of three military lifestyle apps. To learn more: http://www.MoniJeffersonPR.com[/caption%5D

The Start of a PR and Social Media Empire

After a great deal of frustration and some introspection, Moni made the choice to invest in and advocate for herself. Using her educational background of a B.S in Communications and PR from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Moni chose the path of an entrepreneur. “I took the leap starting my own virtual business, Dog Tags and Heels, LLC, a Public Relations and Social Media Visibility Agency. I never set out to build a virtual empire, it just happened by accident. I am so proud to have touched so many people and help make an impact in their business,” shares Moni.

Since beginning her startup only three years ago, Moni has quickly grown to represent numerous brands, attend events and meet celebrities.

The Air Force spouse has become a PR professional who believes that everyone is newsworthy. To date, Moni has launched the three apps, MilCam, MilEmoji and My Ultimate PCS, and has cultivated the Milspouse Creative virtual community online. Her latest initiative is the Pitch Like a PR PRO program. Moni helps bring milspouse- and veteran-owned brands to the forefront, and she isn’t afraid to share her insight to others looking to accomplish the same mission.
